gopro_selfie - trial training

The beautiful sleek lines of the Super VC-10. For some unknown reason, I only took a handful of photos of the BA VC-10s, towards the end of their lives. I guess, like the Tridents, they just seemed too common at the time!

The first of the British Airways fleet of Super VC-10s, inherited from BOAC, G-ASGA is seen arriving on runway 28L at Heathrow on flight BA635. Vantage point was the top floor of Car Park 2.

G-ASGA c/n 851 - Vickers Super VC-10-1151 - after flying for BAC as the prototype Super VC-10-1151, G-ASGA was delivered to BOAC on the last day of 1965. The aircraft was subsumed into the British Airways fleet in April 1974, and flew with them for another seven years or so, before being sold to the RAF as ZD230, After conversion to a VC-10 K.4 tanker in 1982, the aircraft flew with the RAF for another 24 years before being withdrawn and broken up at RAF St Athan in 2006.
