Another one for the "invention" theme. I received my Garmin GPS running watch for Christmas in 2010. I can definitely say that it changed the way I run and encourages me to run a lot more. It is the best fitness present I have received. It maps your route and gives you your distance run, time taken, pace per km, average pace per km, calories burned and elevation. You can also view your route on your computer afterwards. If you are a runner I would definitely say this is worth getting. It is a great invention!

I've always had bad penmanship. Created with a GPS watch about halfway through a 20-mile run on the soft sand, barefoot apart from surf socks.

My Garmin 305 - a GPS gadget for people who love numbers and also love running, hiking, & bicycling. An hour into snowshoeing up Brown Mountain and several miles from the start the Garmin 305 says Ive been hiking about a minute and have gone 190 feet. That was walking across the road. Generally it works great but here you can see that it barely functions in a snowy forest of large trees, even in a clearing. I think the tree snow blocks the satellite because it generally works in this same forest in Summer.

 

When I arrived home and synced it with my Macbook it did create a reasonable map of my trip, however, so it must have been finding satellites here and there.

 

By the way, it doesn't look like it but it was very warm that day - record high temperatures (50 degrees F).

Eine Ausfahrt gemacht um Reifendruck und Sattelposition zu testen. Der Selle Italia SLR XP (ca. 180 gramm) ist für mich bisher der bequemste Sattel. Tacho ist ein Garmin Forerunner mit Magnet am Hinterrad und an der Kurbel. Geschwindigkeit wird primär über GPS ermittelt, wenn man im Tunnel ist schaltet das Gerät um auf die Messung durch den Speichenmagnet, der mit Tesafilm am hinteren Scheibenrad geklebt ist. Puls-, Trittfrequenz- und Geschwindigkeitsmessung laufen höchst zuverlässig.

 

Gewicht ca. 7 kg wie abgebildet ohne Trinkflascheninhalt.

Überhöhung ca. 10,5 cm
