Obviously, I took the photo for the sign.

 

Turney’s Trading in downtown Gallup – I searched around and could only find tidbits about the store. Apparently the store was started in the 1950’s and has been in various locations, all downtown. They do sell items created by native American tribes in the general area, but it appeared that the store is not owned by native Americans. I found no comment about the sign.

I think this is actually the cafeteria. Once you go in the front door, you walk straight through the lobby to get to this river overlook.

This is one of several murals that are in downtown Gallup New Mexico

One of the last habitable weekends in Ann Arbor.

The El Rancho is apparently the grande dame of that set of motels and motor courts developed along Route 66 after WW II.
