One of my favourite places in the world..... Northern Ireland might be a small little country, but it sure has a diverse landscape...

This was taken on the cliff edge (cos that's where I love to be) of Binevengah mountain overlooking the North Coast out into the Atlantic Ocean with a little bit of Donegal (Ireland) to the west :)

I've been going through some archives and found this shot that I took with my old Samsung S2 phone back in March 2012 (before I owned a camera!!)

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend, and your weather is good :)

Thanks for the great comments on my previous uploads, I'm running so far behind that I have no clue how to ever catch up with all your photos - I'll get there LOL :)

Colorado Springs, CO - I finally downloaded some older photos from my cell phone and decided to post something a bit different today ...

The first shot taken on my new

Samsung Galaxy S II Android smartphone. Straight-out-of-camera with no processing (or should that be straight-out-of-phone?) The sky is a complete washout but trust me- that's how it looked, although it was on centre weighted metering. I've switched it to matrix now and I'll try it again tomorrow if I get the chance. It does 1080p HD video too which is just crazy for such a slim and light device.

Its had a camera firmware update since this was taken so not sure what difference that might make.

uh ... it was a bike in the snow

Taken with Samsung Galaxy S2.

Taken with galaxy s2, post processed in LR

Took my nephew to Newcastle, Co. Down on Saturday afternoon for a walk. I promised him before I checked the forecast, and then really hoped it wouldn't rain :) We were fortunate enough as it stayed dry even though the sky was a little bit threatening at times......

The sun did appear a couple of times and gave the pebbles on the beach a lovely golden glow :-)

I used my phone for this shot, and I sometimes think it takes better photos than my camera..... either way, I hope you like it :)

The Prince-Bishops' Palace is located on the Saint-Lambert square in the center of Liege, in Belgium.

Its imposing facade dominates the Saint-Lambert square, the center of merchant life of Liege where once rose to the French Revolution the St. Lambert Cathedral.

Two buildings preceded the present Palace of Prince-Bishops, first built on the fortifications palace was built around the year thousand, prince-bishop Notger, but disappeared in a fire in 1185, the palace was rebuilt under Rudolf of Zähringen. The second building, heavily damaged after the sack of 1468 by the Burgundian dukes, suffered the same fate in 1505.Still the column positions are kept and protected there.

My brother's dog Pepper. She's a chocolate dapple dachshund and so adorable that everyone who meets her automatically falls in love with her. I did, and I may have to get one!!!!

According to my bro, she sleeps a lot...... this however is not true, although Pepper looks like a little angel right now, my Mum and I puppy-sat her recently (she's 2 today (6 Sept), so technically not a puppy any more) and she was completely hyper - although what better type of dog to have :)

even more cute on black 'L'

My brother brought Mum a beautiful bouquet of flowers for Mother's Day, and there were some gorgeous irises in it that were just about to open.

This weeks challenge.... New Life, so as all the blossoms are starting to spring into life everywhere, I thought this would be pretty appropriate :) the texture is rainbow sherbet by Temari 09 www.flickr.com/photos/34053291@N05/7529698942/

Have a great day :)

Back in the days when I was in US, I remember I shot this one with my old Samsung Galaxy SII. It was an extremely hot day, Saturday March 31st 2012. But within 2 hours a thunderstorm and rain came to blow anything away, typical of South Florida :D

Colorado Springs, CO - I know many of you will find this description boring, but given that I was once unaware of just how easy it is to photograph a subject with a plain black background, I figured others might want to discover this as well. I used my cellphone to take this picture to hopefully prove the point even better, although I think it is actually a bit easier with a camera offering more "manual" control.

The first thing about this photograph that I'd like to point out is that the actual background is not black. It is my living room complete with carpet, furniture, pets, and the like all very visible to the human eye. But to the camera, anything that is three (3) or more f-stops underexposed will appear black which is why the only thing you see above is this red tulip profile. So why was this so easy to do? The answer is the "flash" in my cell phone and the Inverse Square Law for lighting.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverse-square_law

Because I held this tulip very close to my cell phone (not more than one foot), the flash output necessary to properly illuminate the flower was not very large and certainly not large enough to illuminate the much larger and more distant living room beyond. Therefore, only the flower appears in this extremely easy to create image. To make certain that my cell phone didn't pick up anything with the available ambient light in my living room, I set the ISO to 100. But otherwise, all I did was point and shoot. Had I been using one of my SLRs, I likely would have also used a tiny aperture and my highest available flash sync speed but the concept remains the same.

This really is as easy as "Flash" and now you know why so many of my flower photos are taken with a flash (or sometimes more than one).

went out for a quick ride and was first surprised by how quick the weather turned, and then what interesting lens flares the camera of my mobile phone produces. anyway - i didn't make it and now i have to clean my bike :)

Ocean City, MD - This was just about the only place I spent during my recent vacation without a DSLR, so I had to make due with my cell phone. Here is a composite of a couple of my more memorable views including the gulls that seemed to be most prevalent and friendly while I was out on the beach ...

it was the third time in the last few months that i saw a a perfect rainbow - and each time i only had my mobile phone at hand to snap a picture, which usually means there won't be a presentable image.. this one i like

Almost have my full collection of seasons now, just need a summer shot from the same place :) (trusty old Parkanaur Forest Park, Co. Tyrone) The most lovely thing about this spot is that, because it's "off the beaten track" I can always count on getting away by myself and not having to meet another human being. Its always so peaceful up here - quite a steep climb depending which direction you take to get there!

I hadn't realised I'd even taken this one until I was going through some old photos I'd stored on my phone.

thank you so much everyone for all your wonderful comments and encouragements - I appreciate every single one of them :)

Sorry for not being around for a long time, but I've been working my ass of lately...

There was no time for pictures or comments.

But this morning I just had to stop, but then I realized that I left camera at home.....

Luckely my cellphone helped me out....

This one's SOOP :)

Have a great weekend my friends!

I think this is quite possibly my last snowy picture - not unless we get a freak snowfall.......

This was taken with my phone (handy when you don't have your camera at the ready) out through the windscreen of the car as Mum and I drove (ok, I did pull over and stop) through the mist and fog last month, one of only 2 days we had snow!! This was taken somewhere near Cappagh, County Tyrone.

Happy Fence Friday folks :-)

I saw some film double exposure work recently that just blew me away. Here and Here. It's something that I would love to give a shot, whenever I happen to get my hands on a film camera. This "double exposure" done completely on my phone. Galaxy S2...processed in Little Photo.
