There is the Old Parliament Square in Nottingham and in Bulwell just outside a road named Piccadilly. A colour photograph will always be just that but the beauty of monochrome is it can be artistic and much better catch the mood and feel of the day and thus add and kind of visual poetic feel to a view. Also if this was a colour photo the viewer might complain because the nearside of the bus is in shadow reducing the detail but instead we get an infoprmal study on what was obviously a beautiful crisp sunny winter day. Nearby Nottingham City Transport had a small bus garage which housed Leyland Atlanteans like Northern Counties bodied 601.

Bulwell is one of those small towns just outside a big city which got swallowed up as the remaining coutryside got built-up and is now a part of Nottingham. When I visited there it had a Nottingham City Transport Garage filled with Atlanteans and a busy bus station nearby.
