The Pontiac 455 cubic inch (7.5-liter) V8 engine was not a factory option for the 1968 Pontiac GTO. The 455 engine was first introduced as a factory option for the GTO in the 1970 model year. Any 1968 GTO with a 455 engine is a car that has been modified with an engine swap after it left the factory. This is a popular modification among enthusiasts, and many such modified GTOs can be found for sale today.

The blue car on the left is the 1936 Packard that my dad restored and the red car is a 1967 Pontiac GTO that my dad and mom got while in Long Beach, CA in 1967.
I have always had a soft spot for 65 GTO's.
I owned one a long time ago.
Somewhere around 1969.
Mine was not as nice as this one but sill it was probably the nicest cars I have ever owned.
Everyone has had a car in their past that they really loved. Whether it was their first car or the fastest car or the newest car.
Mine was not this car. It wasn't new. I bought it used. I loved that car.
Where mine was Burgundy. This car is Blue Charcoal.
It sold at the auction for $32,450.
The cost for this car new in 1965 was probably about $3,500.00
