It was another exciting weekend of Pirelli World Challenge Championship racing at Circuit of the Americas, where once again, Forgeline-equipped teams came out on top! A huge congrats goes out to Jade Buford, Scott Maxwell, and the entire PF Racing team for winning Saturday’s first-ever Pirelli World Challenge Grand Prix of Texas GTS-X race! After earning a second place starting position in qualifying, Buford, Maxwell, and the PF Racing team exhibited flawless execution - both on and off the track - to get out front and hold on long enough to claim the checkered flag in their #55 Ford Mustang GT4 on Forgeline one piece forged monoblock GS1R wheels! A clash of the titans? It was an epic battle between Forgeline-equipped teams at this past weekend’s Pirelli World Challenge Championship 2017 GTS season finale, at Sonoma Raceway. In Saturday’s race, Ian James qualified on the pole and went flag to flag up front to earn his sixth win of the 2017 season in the #50 Panoz Avezzano on Forgeline one piece forged monoblock GS1R wheels. James then started on the pole again for Sunday’s race, and led most of the way -- until a restart on lap 15, when Lawson Aschenbach made a pass to claim the lead, which he held through lap 18 (when the race was halted early due an on-track accident). Aschenbach was awarded the win, his second of the 2017 season, and officially earned the 2017 GTS-class driver championship (the third of his career), the 2017 GTS-class team championship (for Blackdog Speed Shop), and the 2017 GTS-class manufacturer championship (for Chevrolet) with his #10 Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R on Forgeline one piece forged monoblock GS1R wheels! As fast as it looks? A huge congrats to Lawson Aschenbach, Blackdog Speed Shop, Chevrolet, and Pratt & Miller Engineering on their spectacular start to the 2017 Pirelli World Challenge racing season, on this past weekend's St. Petersburg street circuit! Lawson qualified on the pole to start Saturday’s race, earned two podium finishes, and set a new track record, in the brand new #10 Camaro GT4.R on Forgeline one piece forged monoblock GS1R wheels! His teammate, Tony Gaples, also drove his #11 car to a pair of top ten finishes and a Hard Charger award! We’re very proud to be the official wheel of Chevy’s new GT4.R Camaro, and we expect this platform to see much success!
What inspires you to keep fighting, even when circumstances seem to be working against you? This was one of those weekends for the Blackdog Speed Shop racing team, but they persevered and made lemonade from lemons!
