Sadly Monday I had to say goodbye to my beautiful Poppy, it's such a hard decision to make, but deep down I know it's for the best, I couldn't bear to see her in so much pain.
The vet prescribed antibiotics last Thursday and we was hoping it was a water infection, but poor Poppy had a seizure and then her condition really deteriorated over the weekend,
My beautiful Poppy has been laid to rest in my back garden with all my other babies, under a young Holm oak tree that we planted several years ago, but we all know she is at rainbow bridge with all my best friends and she will now run free of pain.
This is Fynn! He is 5 months old and our first GSD. I have been away from the group for a couple of years now and am excited to be back. I've gotten away from dog photography for the most part but am hoping the new blood in the house gets me going again. He is the first puppy we have had in a long time and I forgot how much work they can be. Being a large dog I am trying to make it a priority to work with him on obedience so he can have a very good life. He seems to be catching on pretty well. Right now his favorite hobby seems to be playing fetch which is awesome because most of our past dogs didn't really like to play like that.
After taking a spill, Sandy (aka "The Taz") gets a little feisty. At about 3x her size, Major was unphased by the flash of her canines.
Actually, both were just enjoying a playful romp in the light snow... a snapshot in time doesn't always tell the whole story.
The focus speed of Nikon's 55-300mm f/4,5-5.6 glass is fairly good under bright conditions... lower light conditions are a completely different story.

Wild Beast GSD K2 Viciously Attacking Me With Love Before His Heartworm Treatment September 2025 — IMRAN®
I don’t know what’s scarier — a German Shepherd “attack” dog or my double-chin stretched even more massively by the wide-angle lens!
My beautiful and endlessly playful German Shepherd, K2, is pure joy. From the moment my precious Kennedy and I picked him up, his spirited nature has been a gift. This screenshot is from a video recorded on September 8.
Since then, K2 had been undergoing a grueling treatment for heartworm—a diagnosis that shocked me, especially since he’s never missed a single dose of Simparica Trio preventive care.
The treatment is brutal: 30 days of appetite-killing antibiotics, multiple painful injections, and several months of near-total inactivity to prevent a potentially fatal heart or lung embolism from the dead worm fragments. For a high-energy dog like K2, that’s the hardest part.
Having lost Kennedy to an inoperable tumor last year, I’m praying K2 survives this ordeal. I’m deeply grateful to my friends Tressa and Dan, who’ve been caring for him even during the toughest stretches—when I’ve had to travel and he’s been enduring painful injections, strict rest, and the emotional toll of this brutal treatment. Their devotion and attention have been nothing short of extraordinary.
Today marks 2 months of his last injections and I hope to share more of his activities in the new year.

GSDs Kennedy Seaside, K2 Rear Side, Full 360 View Guarding Formation At Golden Sunset Tampa Bay Florida Late Summer 2022 - IMRAN™
(My 170th Flickr Explore!)
My precious German Shepherd Dogs, the 8-9-year-old rescued Kennedy on the left and the exactly 2.5-year-old K2, often demonstrated their innate guardian instincts. In the house, they frequently positioned themselves to keep me in view from different hallways or approaches to a living space. Outdoors, they would almost always sit facing opposite directions, slightly offset from each other, for a full 360-degree view.
Besides the traits in their DNA, it was fun to watch how Kennedy would be the gentle alpha, and the otherwise rambunctious K2 would defer to Kennedy. He would literally follow, watch, and mimic Kennedy’s moves.
This was a beautiful memory I captured just before the hurricane hit in 2022. It was a stunning sunset as both dogs took up formation. As I soaked in such moments, Kennedy showed his love of sunsets and seas by always facing that side. Best Dog Ever!

Help! Cujo 1 & Cujo 2 Have Me Trapped In The Kitchen - IMRAN™
I was (supposed to be) in third year of electronics engineering studies in Lahore, Pakistan, in 1983 when the horror thriller movie Cujo cane out. But I was too busy being Chief Organizer of QSF, the largest independent students federation in the country, fighting against now-dead dog treasonous dictator General Zia and his & the CIA’s joint creations, the rabid dogs of armed fundamentalist terrorists, who plague the planet even almost 40 years later. So I never actually saw the movie.
But tonight, with my well-fed dogs Kennedy and K2 apparently lazily dozing, I had finished a midnight snack at the kitchen counter. When I got up I had to laugh when I saw this scene.
It seemed they had both taken up positions in identical poses at two of the entrances to the right and left of the kitchen, like Cujo 1 and Cujo 2, with menacing eyes questioning why they didn’t get snacks at the same time.
Fortunately, K(1) & K2 were only interested in going out for a midnight walk, and I was able to safely escape the kitchen. 😄
