This is my main banjo, an aptly named Deering Goodtime. Mine is an open-backed model suitable for the old-time styles I tend to play most often (though I dabble a little in bluegrass picking and other styles as well).

I've had this instrument for probably about 12 or so years now and it's still on the original head, which is getting a little bit grungy but showing no signs that it will need replacing any time soon.

Ahh, those where the days :)
