The test results are back and my brothers cancer didn't spread any further than the areas that were removed in surgery. Once he recovers from surgery he should be back to normal. Thanks so much to everyone who sent possitive thoughts and well wishes.

We first came upon the Church of the Good Shepherd (episcopal) in Folly Mills, Virginia -- a short distance south of Staunton -- on the rainy and snowy Monday of Flickr friend Steve Brown's (sjb4photos) visit, four weeks ago. This beautiful little stone church is shown more fully in the next photo. Most of the windows are plain glass, but a few windows on the NE side near the rear of the structure are of stained glass, with one set shown above. I like the warm tones of late evening on a sunny day in the next photo, taken six days later, but the even light of the rainy day worked well for this capture of the windows, I believe. The Church of the Good Shepherd website does not provide a history of the church, but the cornerstone to the left of the main entrance has the date 1924 carved into it. Best in light box.
the traditional good friday procession that depicts the last moments of christ's life, as well as, important saints was due to start at 6pm, when, it started to rain heavily around 4pm and it poured, threatening to delay the affair. however, devotees still kept arriving and huddling for cover under umbrellas or any cover while others were busy protecting their adopted saints from the elements with any cover they can get. at exactly 6pm the rain stopped and the celebration continued as planned. while many were wet, it never dampened their spirit to join. a great day for a photoshoot, not because of the rain nor the wet roads nor the mud but the ambience and the people
