Colaptes rubiginosus
(Golden-olive woodpecker / Carpintero verdidorado)
The golden-olive woodpecker (Colaptes rubiginosus) is a resident breeding bird from Mexico south and east to Guyana, northwest Argentina, Trinidad and Tobago. It was formerly placed in the genus Piculus. The scientific name rubiginosus means "full of rust", describing the color of the bird's wings and back.
The habitat of this woodpecker is forests, more open woodland, and cultivation. It is most common in the mountains. Due to its habitat—mainly montane forest, separated by large rivers—it has evolved into about 20 subspecies. Andean birds show a pale eyering.
Golden-olive woodpeckers mainly eat insects, including ants and beetle larvae, with some fruit and berries.
This is a place where time stands still in autumn and you take this time to reflect on life.... Filled with new thoughts, you can walk gratefully back down into the valley.

Dies ist ein Ort, wo im Herbst die Zeit still steht und man sich diese Zeit nimmt, um über das Leben nachzudenken... erfüllt mit neuen Gedanken kann man dankbar wieder ins Tal hinunter wandern.

The fifth shot in the golden sands series taken on the east coast of Malaysia, Cherating, South China Sea: in locating photography as reflective of a human understanding situated within nature as 'photographic poetry' in landscape … featuring different sand bank configurations and hues of golden yellow through the morning …

I don't see this very active little guy often. It paused briefly while finding something to eat on the spruce boughs.

Goldener Oktober
Die Sonne streichelt sanft das Land,
die Blätter fallen leise.
Der Herbst färbt wieder bunt die Welt,
in altbekannter Weise.
Die Bäume leuchten golden-gelb,
im hellen Sonnenlichte.
Der Wind, der mit den Blättern spielt,
erzählt seine Geschichte.
Der Wald zeigt sich im bunten Kleid,
ein Feuerwerk aus Farben.
Kastanien schimmern rot und braun,
den schönsten Glanz sie haben.
Die Tiere sammeln fleißig schon,
für Winters kalte Zeiten.
Nun müssen wieder Mensch und Tier,
sich langsam vorbereiten.
Geerntet wird das letzte Obst,
der Wein wird nun gelesen.
Gefeiert wird der Erntedank,
das ist der Herbst gewesen.

This northern pintail duck flying on a golden pond reflecting the tree colours, I took it yesterday the only sunny day in next on week.這隻針尾鴨正飛躍一個金色的池塘,這是昨天拍的,也是這些天來唯一的晴天

I was able to get incredibly close today to this beautiful bird in the Yorkshire Dales.
I love this summer 'golden' sunset at Rainbow Beach, Gold Coast, Australia, here, where a lot of surfers enter the water and where a good wave break is. The shimmering light over the wet sands really caught the eye.
