"Why do I have to grow up?" asked Pink.

"Because you can't be young forever." answered Gold.

"But...why?" Pink pressed on.

"Why not?" Gold countered back.

Pink's lips parted to answer but then she realized she had no idea why she was opposed to growing up.

Gold just chuckled, allowing her to digest her own questions that honestly did not have answers.

If only pink knew that no one really grows up, they just pretend to. There is a little child in all of us...

P.S. We're angels, I swear ;)

Have a safe and happy day dear Flickr friends !

A variety of birds, including this Golden-Cheeked Woodpecker feed on the African Tulip tree. Captured while on vacation in Mexico.

Autumn in Downieville at the confluence of the Downie River and the South Fork of the Yuba. The gold was glowing bright in this old gold rush town.

We sold our house in record time and are about to become drifters. Sadly, this may curtail my Flickr time after 01-Aug as I will no longer have access to the computer where I work my photos. I'm hoping the archives will get me through a couple of months. We'll see.

Gold River is considered to be part of the North Island but is technically on the west coast you just need a boat to get there.

Macro Mondays - Wrinkled

Image measure less than 2" on the long side.

This week was a challenge for me, I didn't like anything I did, lol. This is a creased bow on my pajamas pocket. : )

Happy Macro Monday!

I don’t know what they sell from this shed, but they give Gold Bond Stamps. Maybe they sell paddle boats or Coca Cola. Remember when we had those booklets to paste our Green Stamps and Gold Stamps into. You had to collect thousands to get anything good from the redemption store. I liked to paste them into the book when I was a kid. Where have all the good times gone ...LOL?

Taken at the River Almond, Cramond, Edinburgh, Scotland, 2020.

I had a good morning with the Cormorant a few weeks ago. Photographers’ (me included) are oft heard exclaiming “Look at that light!” . When I was teaching birds in flight one of my suggestions was to find a background that might get a good subject. Subjects are like magnets, and for good reason, and act as the siren song luring the camera away from the gold. In this case, the light reflecting on the water was where there was a good chance I might get a cormorant bringing home nesting material. They were working hard that morning, usually flying too far above the water, but there was a chance. And yes, I hit gold a few times, this being one of my favorites.
