Some unsettled weather has brought Jersey some awesome cloud formations over the past few days! Taken from Gorey Pier, looking towards Seymour Tower on the South East coast of the island...
A HDR image of the beautiful, other worldly curves of the lower antelope slot canyons. This was shot during my 1st visit to the lower antelope canyon.
To compose this image without a articulating LCD screen, I had to literally lie completely flat on the muddy canyon floor with my camera hardly a few inches off the ground facing up through the opening.
It is one of those mind boggling scenes one would ever encounter in life!
I have heard this phrase most of my life. Although it is not in the bible, many believe it was coined by John Wesley, the co-founder of Methodism, who often emphasized cleanliness in his preaching.
In this shot, a sea otter grooms and examines its…well…I have no idea what it is looking at or cleaning as I do not know if it is male of female. We just have to assume that it did a good job since it now has its nose in danger close proximity.

“Cleanliness becomes more important when godliness is unlikely” – P.J. O’Rourke (American satirist).
The theme for "Looking Close on Friday" for the 18th of August is "soap foam". Even before the advent of the Coronavirus pandemic, I was always a fastidious handwasher: something drilled into my daily routine by my grandparents when I was child. Therefore, to whip up some delicate foam from my current bar of lily-of-the-valley hand soap was a pleasure to do for the sake of the theme! I hope you like my choice for this week’s theme, and that it makes you smile.

Godafoss
Iceland
One can only describe this spot in Northern Iceland as an iconic location. We visited Godafoss on both of our trips and how vastly different the conditions were! In 2009 , we had the wind blowing in our face with a backdrop of snow covered mountains. This year, periods of blue sky , sunshine and the wind blowing back into the waterfall so we could shoot in comfort. This rock has been the subject of many images from Godafoss but I couldn't resist! 60 second exposure with ND500 and the black card trick held over the waterfall and above for all but 10-15 seconds.

Goðafoss (waterfall of the gods), located less than a hours drive from Akureyri, is 12 meters high and over 30 meters wide waterfall in Northern Iceland. According to myth, local king threw his statues of Norse gods into waterfall after making Christianity official religion of Iceland in the year 1000.

Insignificant On Cosmic Scale But Godly In Uniqueness In Space-Time Continuum, First Sunset New Year New Decade New Era - IMRAN™
(My 97th Photo In Explore!)
What a joy to be able to live into another new year, another new decade, and, hopefully, a new era. I captured this beautiful first sunset of 2021 on Tampa Bay Florida at my blessed home in Apollo Beach.
It is an HDR image intended to capture the vivid vivacious vitality of this time in history.
In the grand scheme of things, it makes you think. Quite frankly, the moment is meaningless when seen on a cosmic scale — which is the backdrop of our time here on earth as humans, or as a species on a planet, or even as a planet in peril from its own inhabitants while it does its rounds around a fairly insignificant star called the sun. Even on a human scale it is a “non-event” — just a click that may not even register in the literally billions of photos that will have been taken between New Year’s Eve and the first night of 2021.
But here and now, the moment and the experience of this instant, it is a godly event — an absolutely unique spot, sight, and moment — in all of the infinite space-time continuum! Imagine that. I bow my head in gratitude to the Almighty, and in thanks to all of you for the love you gave, give, and will give me. Forever.

The Mystery of Godliness (4) - Only God Incarnate Can Do the Work of Judgment in the Last Days
Lin Bo'en was an elder at a house church in China. During all his years as a believer, he felt honored to suffer for the Lord, and valued the knowledge and attainment of the Lord Jesus Christ above anything else in the world. One fateful day, he went out to preach and heard some shocking news: The Lord Jesus has returned in the flesh, and He is Christ of the last days— Almighty God! Lin Bo'en was puzzled. When the Lord returns, He is supposed to descend with the clouds, so why would He incarnate Himself and do His work in secret? What mysteries were hidden behind God's incarnation? If the Lord has truly returned, why haven't we been raptured? … An intense debate unfolds between Lin Bo'en and his co-workers and the preachers from the Church of Almighty God … Will they finally be able to understand that Almighty God is the return of the Lord Jesus, the appearance of God in the flesh?

Unfortunately, many people think that patience is most predominately demonstrated by someone who has an easy going, laid-back attitude. But, on the contrary, patience is not some passive nuance of someone’s character; it is an active, exhibited virtue. It is a virtue of trust. To exercise trust implies that we are trusting in someone greater than ourselves. It is no wonder the world is so impatient. Those who do not know God can only trust in themselves, for there is no one greater in whom they can place their trust. Their confidence is self-confidence, their esteem is self-esteem, and their reliance is self-reliance… If we trust in ourselves, then we are a hopeless people. But we are the people of God who place our trust in the sovereign Creator and Sustainer of all things. Indeed, we do not know patience apart from Him; we are patient precisely because He is patient toward us, enduring with us to the very end. Therefore, we live coram Deo, for in Him we live, move, and have our being, and in Him our patience is perfected. - Burk Parson

Gospel Movie "The Mystery of Godliness" (6) - The Necessity for God to Do His Work Through Incarnation
www.holyspiritspeaks.org/videos/movie-the-mystery-of-godl...
Introduction
Why is it said that it is more beneficial to saving corrupt mankind for God to incarnate? In what can the necessity and major significance of God incarnating be seen? Almighty God says, "The flesh of man has been corrupted by Satan, and most deeply blinded, and profoundly harmed. The most fundamental reason why God's Work personally in the flesh is because the object of His salvation is man, who is of the flesh, and because Satan also uses the flesh of man to disturb the work of God. The battle with Satan is actually the work of conquering man, and at the same time, man is also the object of God's salvation. In this way, the work of God incarnate is essential. Satan corrupted the flesh of man, and man became the embodiment of Satan, and became the object to be defeated by God. In this way, the work of doing battle with Satan and saving mankind occurs on earth, and God must become human in order to do battle with Satan. This is work of the utmost practicality" (The Word Appears in the Flesh).

Introduction
It is recorded clearly in the Bible that the Lord Jesus is Christ, that He is the Son of God. Yet theEastern Lightning testifies that the incarnate Christ is the manifestation of God, that He is God Himself. So is the incarnate Christ the Son of God? Or is He God Himself? >Almighty God says, "'Jesus is the beloved Son of God, in whom He is well pleased'.... That was God bearing witness to Himself, but merely from a different perspective, that of the Spirit in heaven bearing witness to His own incarnation. Jesus is His incarnation, not His Son in heaven. Do you understand? Do not the words of Jesus, 'The Father is in Me and I am in the Father,' indicate that They are one Spirit? And is it not because of the incarnation that They were separated between heaven and earth? In reality, They are still one; no matter what, it is simply God bearing witness to Himself"

Happy is the man ... his delights is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a
tree planted by streams of water, that yields its fruit in
its season, and its leaf does not wither.
- Psalms 1: 1-3
An Atheist in me tells me that there is no white robed, big bearded gentleman called "God" sitting up there and managing this vast cosmos. Period.
Now that said & put aside, I surely "see," mind you I didn't use the word "believe," in the "Godliness" that surrounds us. A walk in the mist laden forest on a cold morning gives me ample evidences of Godliness that nature bestows us every day & night. There is divinity in the sun light that percolates the mist & lights up the dew drops on the wet carpet of the forest. I find these daily skirmishes with the forces of environment very spiritual. I like my silence & solitude when I bow my head to the various elements of nature & thank my stars for the opportunity to co- exist along with them on this beautiful planet.
May this heavenly light continue to guide me & all of us. Ameen.

A Godly Sunset, Iceland. I captured this shot as we were heading towards Stokness to catch the sunset. Far away is the Vatnajokull Glacier, the biggest glacier in Europe and to be honest being able to see it engulfed by the sun rays is something that's like a dream yet real.
