Canon 5d MKii for the camera. ISO 6400 at f1.8 and 20 second exposures on all 9 shots to make this. I needed 9 photos to get this angle of a view otherwise the 50mm would show only a small fraction of this scene. at the longer lens you can clearly make out many of the dust lanes including all the fingers in these light blocking star forming regions between our solar system and the center of our galaxy
Mars and Saturn are to the right of the Milky Way. Saturn is still seemingly mixed in the Galactic Core slightly

I am well into a "plain" series with this plain shot.This barn is pretty plain, except for tin patches covering peckerwood holes. Too bad windows are broken and let pigeons in at will anyway. Actually, Will got bombed a couple of times himself. It looks like the pigeons also bombed the barn. The highs of the day are being broken by the storms moving about. eDDIE found another for his monumental list of barns and called me to meet him out east on hwy 66. Of course, I was there well ahead of him as the premium clouds were moving off. I grabbed my long lens instantly and shot the Bacon property against the fleeting sky before the next rain storm moved in. I really like this sky but it was quickly buzzing off!. We should have met here more than an hour earlier. This is a start of another agricultural series.
eDDie swung by as I already changed back to my normal zoom. We were ready to head into the Bacon property. The bank of clouds that could have enhanced the shots, was already moving off to the southeast. Let's face it, Longmont was creeping up on an 80 degree day, and ready to shower. It's clunky sky was on its way overhead now. It is time to put the rush on. I really like the hill location and the view west although some of their old junk Chinese elms were dead and scotched that view I wanted.
The Bacon location has since been taken over by the Colorado Wildlife division and included into the Sawhill ponds recreation area. Ponds my butt... gravel pits all. BoCo is quickly losing taxable lands. Calling it a recreation area won't make it green until reclaimed.
