Personally, I favor GN orange and green, but I have to admit that these look pretty sharp.
The Great Northern heritage of the route is in evidence as Burlington Northern train 128 passes the ramshackle GN depot at Petersburg, N.D. on Feb. 16, 1981. F9A 774 was one of those units (we all have them) that seemed to follow me around, leading trains often when I was out hunting BN Fs.
Thank you low angle sunlight for illuminating the Great Northern herald on this veteran bridge. I have been wanting this photo for years, but I neither prioritized it or studied if the sun gets low enough to shine on the entirety of the GN logo. One day heading over to Saint Paul, I was driving on 15th Avenue and saw it was lit up perfectly. I fortunately had my camera and grabbed several angles.
I have seen this GN herald and thought a lot about if any other bridges in the Great Northern system had GN text or advertising. None that I am aware of besides this one. If you know of a bridge with Great Northern text, please let me know in the comments.

GN SDP45 (329) in consist of westbound CB&Q freight. The transfer track off the Indiana Harbor Belt, by which new units were interchanged from the EMD plant (only a coouple miles south on the IHB) to the CB&Q, was just a feww cars behind these units and accessed from the north main on which this train is riding, As handy as that might have been, I have a feeling that the GN unit was brought east to the main frreight yard in Cicero, for inclusion to the consist of this high priority manifest. It was well on its way to the head end of the "Empire Builder" here!
