Old GMC truck caught on film. Reality So Subtle 6x6 pinhole camera, Ilford Pan F film and caffenol developer.
This truck needs a little TLC. The headliner is coming down, the taillights are non-existent and there is rust on the bumpers and wheels, but the most disturbing thing is the large nest in the passenger seat. You can see the nesting material sticking out of the door. Now, I would guess an emu nest or an ostrich, but we don’t have those birds in the USA.
Whatever it is, it is big and, I’m guessing, hungry! After all, who knows how long it has been shut in this truck.
Or it could be several chickens! HTT
GMC 100.
Well, we went to the city yesterday afternoon for a quiet coffee. Knowing that the annual Pride Parade was on, we opted for an area of the city that would be relatively quiet or so we thought. Once we arrived we started to notice a lot of cars on Sveavägen (name of the street). I didn't bring my camera, but luckily my phone takes RAW photos, so we spent a couple of hours looking at and photographing the cars cruising up and down the street. It was good fun.
This was at the "Truck Stop" in Show Low, Arizona, USA.. A fun place of different foods, drinks, bands, arts, crafts, and games. The theme is old trucks and they are parked all around with many being used as seating, stage, or decoration.
On my way back home I drove by this beautiful truck parked in a driveway. I stopped and asked the owner if I could shoot it. Turned out that he just purchased from a seller in Kentucky and had just driven it back. The light was fading so I had to hurry up. I like the outcome.

1959 Chevrolet GMC Corvette 5.7 litre, OSU 156, on display at the docks during Gloucester Goes Retro on 23 August 2025. The Corvette is a line of American two-door, two-seater sports cars manufactured and marketed by General Motors under the Chevrolet marque since 1953.
Gloucester Docks form the most inland port in the country. Elizabeth I granted Gloucester the status of customs port in 1580. The first customs house was at the Old Quay which stretches north from the lock at the North Quay. The house still stands and still wears the royal coat of arms.
circa 1973 GMC motor home...whether sanctioned by Coca-Cola for advertising or a personal creation by someone's affection for the soft drink ? ~ Poughkeepsie, NY
The one-piece windshield with this body style identifies it as a 1954 model, the last model year of this style.
This truck was one of a few parked in front of a furniture store in Mesa, Arizona named Potato Barn.
This was some unique yard art in Riverdale, Idaho. Someone started with a 1947-54 series GMC flatbed and added a box covered with license plates and filled with plastic flowers. It was obvious that it needed a couple of Minions made from propane tanks. It was still incomplete, so they painted flowers on a manure spreader and hooked it to the trailer hitch. Then, so it would look cool at night, the headlights were replaced with LEDs. Someone must have had fun creating this, and I enjoyed seeing it.
The 1953 GMC 100 is a highly coveted, half-ton classic pickup truck belonging to GMC's celebrated "New Design" series. Produced during the final years of this post-WWII body era, it shared its foundational architecture with the Chevrolet Advance-Design 3100 but distinguished itself with a heavier-duty factory engine and a bolder, more prominent front grille design.
The standard engine was a 228 cubic-inch (3.7L) inline 6-cylinder rated at approximately 100 to 105 gross horsepower.
It came with a 3-speed or 4-speed manual transmission, with the multi-speed Hydra-Matic automatic available as a premium option.
The massive, chrome bar layout with the bold "GMC" logo set it apart visually from the horizontal slat look of its Chevrolet counterpart. Many 100 series trucks left the factory with a dedicated cut-out and mounting bracket on the driver-side rear fender for a side-mounted spare tire.
This is a 5-Window "Deluxe" Cab. While standard cabs featured a 3-window design, the premium "Deluxe" option incorporated two auxiliary curved glass windows in the rear corners to minimize blind spots and increase natural cabin light.
Cargo bede was built with durable, thick metal dividers framing structural real wood planks painted black or clear-coated.
Today, the 1953 GMC 100 is widely sought after by automotive enthusiasts for both factory-faithful restorations and high-end "restomod" builds
From Dave's Old Trucks Rescue in Sprague, WA. I will never forget stopping here when there was thick wildfire smoke pollution and the temperature was 100 Degrees. We persevered.
Happy Truck Thursday!
‘Wideside’ was the equivalent of the ‘Fleetside’ designation utilized by GMC’s corporate cousin Chevrolet for their trucks.

Happy Truck Thursday!
I asked my husband about this truck, thinking it belonged to his family all these years. It's on their land but not their truck. The things you learn by asking questions.
