Old GMC truck caught on film. Reality So Subtle 6x6 pinhole camera, Ilford Pan F film and caffenol developer.
This truck needs a little TLC. The headliner is coming down, the taillights are non-existent and there is rust on the bumpers and wheels, but the most disturbing thing is the large nest in the passenger seat. You can see the nesting material sticking out of the door. Now, I would guess an emu nest or an ostrich, but we don’t have those birds in the USA.
Whatever it is, it is big and, I’m guessing, hungry! After all, who knows how long it has been shut in this truck.
Or it could be several chickens! HTT
GMC 100.
Well, we went to the city yesterday afternoon for a quiet coffee. Knowing that the annual Pride Parade was on, we opted for an area of the city that would be relatively quiet or so we thought. Once we arrived we started to notice a lot of cars on Sveavägen (name of the street). I didn't bring my camera, but luckily my phone takes RAW photos, so we spent a couple of hours looking at and photographing the cars cruising up and down the street. It was good fun.
If the owner is a Seattle Seahawks fan, this must be the most attractive Seahawksfanmobile I've ever seen, notwithstanding the peeling paint on the hood.
Found this display along a city street on a photography trip. Love the pride for their downtown area and this was a perfect addition to the small town feel.

This was at the "Truck Stop" in Show Low, Arizona, USA.. A fun place of different foods, drinks, bands, arts, crafts, and games. The theme is old trucks and they are parked all around with many being used as seating, stage, or decoration.
1959 Chevrolet GMC Corvette 5.7 litre, OSU 156, on display at the docks during Gloucester Goes Retro on 23 August 2025. The Corvette is a line of American two-door, two-seater sports cars manufactured and marketed by General Motors under the Chevrolet marque since 1953.
Gloucester Docks form the most inland port in the country. Elizabeth I granted Gloucester the status of customs port in 1580. The first customs house was at the Old Quay which stretches north from the lock at the North Quay. The house still stands and still wears the royal coat of arms.
Quite the unique vehicle in my opinion. This is a COE, which stands for Cab Over Engine. When it comes to the GMC COEs, I hear that anything that is considered decent is now very hard to find as they are very popular as vehicle haulers. I thought that this one was pretty funky, with what I am pretty sure is a chopped roof, and it absolutely has to have hydraulics in its suspension as the bumper is within an inch of the pavement. The hauling bed comes in different lengths, and I believe that this one is considered a shortie.
Patina is defined as a surface that has become beautiful with age or use. Now I am not sure how the colours came to be on this vehicle, but I thought that it looked pretty cool.
It is quite shiny, but I suppose the rust that does show will continue to spread somewhat and that its appearance will still evolve with age.
Will take a couple of clicks to get to full view. :)
The one-piece windshield with this body style identifies it as a 1954 model, the last model year of this style.
This truck was one of a few parked in front of a furniture store in Mesa, Arizona named Potato Barn.
From Dave's Old Trucks Rescue in Sprague, WA. I will never forget stopping here when there was thick wildfire smoke pollution and the temperature was 100 Degrees. We persevered.
Happy Truck Thursday!
I asked my husband about this truck, thinking it belonged to his family all these years. It's on their land but not their truck. The things you learn by asking questions.

Both GMC and Chevrolet both used the name ‘Suburban’ for their truck-based station wagon. GMC utilized large V-6 engines that Chevrolet did not.
Year Model 1962 or 63. The color certainly stands out in comparison to the dull and boring hues of other vehicles, especially the new ones.
Note that there is no rear door on the driver’s side.
Hands down the most unusual ornament I have seen on any vehicle.
Not too many vehicles could have an ornament like this on them and pull it off, still looking cool.
But it matches perfectly on this old truck and completes it's look.
I photographed this beauty from various angles as there was so many interesting things about it
Probably the most tired looking thing at the show but I love the character of it.
