Hoy, 2 de marzo de 2009, mientras viajaba hacia la ciudad de San Luis desde La Punta, me impactó la vista de esta impresionante tormenta, que parecia una "eurpción volcánica", pero formada por nubes. Me detuve e hice varias capturas. /

El gran lago Futalaufquen. La toma tiene una pequeña desviación en el horizonte, no la he tocado porque la disparé desde una camioneta en movimiento. Espero les agrade mi regreso ;).

En la cordillera de Los Andes, Potrerillos, Mendoza, por la ruta 7 que va al país vecino, Chile, está este hermoso Lago Potrerillos, que no deja de asombrar por su esmaltado color.

Un lugar especial llamado "Manantiales", casi mágico en Tunuyán, inserto sobre la Cordillera de Los Andes, en Mendoza. Hace varios años se dijo que harían un centro de ski. Hay picos importantes de 5000 metros y un paso pintoresco al país vecino. Sobre sus faldeos, está el "Manzano Histórico" donde el Gral. San Martín diseñó la gesta libertadora. Lo visité con Anne en una tarde espectacular. //

Un lugar increíble perdido entre las sierras de San Luis, muy cerca del Dique Nogolí y hasta donde el camino me permitió llegar, se encuentra esta quebrada llamada "Paso del Cóndor" (antiguamente se llamaba "Paso del Aguila", no me pregunten porque cambiaron el nombre del lugar) por donde baja el río que alimenta el dique. Cerca existen refugios y cabañas para turistas. Otro mágico lugar que esconde San Luis, Argentina. Link para verlo en Google Earth. /

Un atardecer rojo, en un clima enrarecido por el viento en la ciudad de San Luis, Argentina. Me impresionó el color sobre el horizonte.

Cerro Sololosta de 1795 mts. de altura s/n/m en San Luis, Argentina. Está en lo que se llama "Circuito de las Sierras", una formación de origen volcánico (y en crecimiento) cercano a "La Carolina" (en otrora explotación Minera) y una gruta gigante llamada "Intihuasi", donde el hombre la habitó hace mas de 8 mil años. Este orginal circuito pasa por un pueblo llamado "Paso del Rey" (uno de los primeros de San Luis) que posee una Iglesia en ruinas y por una falla llamada "Angostura" donde hay muchas pinturas rupestres de antiguos habitantes.
La base de esta montaña es singular porque su elevación es bastante pronunciada y allí habitan nidos de cóndores, águilas moras y pumas. La belleza del lugar es atrapante. /

Difícil explicar el significado de esta foto para mi...En el año 1968 llegué a este lugar con mi Madre, mi hermana Mónica y mi Tío Edgar. Tenía 8 años. Recuerdo cada detalle de ese día. Estuvimos recorriendo este hermoso Dique y luego continuamos viaje sobre el Cañón del Atuel hacia el Dique Nihuil. Mi impresión de aquel viaje se hizo presente en mi, después de 42 años. En cada "parada" donde había algún significado especial (en el Cañón está lleno de figuras) escuchaba en retrospectiva la dulce voz de mi madre contandome la historia de aquél lugar (por cierto, mi Madre es de San Rafael, Mendoza). Su belleza permanece tal cuál la recordaba, solo que ahora su ausencia golpea fuerte en mi alma y corazón. Estar en Valle Grande, fue como volver a escuchar su voz, regresar a mi niñez bañada de su encanto y felicidad. A Valle Grande, mi "Tiempo de agradecimiento", que le llaman... //

Pájaro comunmente llamado "Tero". Una característica llamativa es el sonido que produce. También es ferviente defensor de su nido, llegando al punto de "atacar" si ve que algo se acerca, mostrando amenazantes sus "espolones" (dos lanzetas o púas que tienen sobre la mitad de la ala, que se puede apreciar en la foto). Colocan sus nidos en tierra, debajo de cualquier planta, por lo gral. en lugares amplios, donde haya plantas o parque. Casi siempre están en pareja. Hasta inclusive se conoce gente que los ha "domesticado" (en campos o casas de campo), debido justamente, a su fama de "guardián chillón y malhumorado".

Otra notable tormenta sobre San Luis. Tuve la suerte de estar de frente a la tormenta y a la sierra, para tomar estas imagenes y componer esta panorámica que en su totalidad mide aproximadamente 100 km de derecha (sur) a izquierda (norte).
