Rosa 'Madame A. Meilland'
Marketing names: Gloria Dei, Gioia, Peace
The Peace rose, formally Rosa 'Madame A. Meilland', is a well-known and successful garden rose. By 1992, over one hundred million plants of this hybrid tea had been sold. The cultivar has large flowers of a light yellow to cream color, slightly flushed at the petal edges with crimson-pink. It is hardy and vigorous and relatively resistant to disease, making it popular in gardens as well as in the floral trade.
This didn't work out quite how I would have liked it, I expected it to look a bit more of a fun shot. Instead it's just a pic of me (I mean Gloria) in the bath with shower cap and face mask, drinking bubbly. I can't think how to give it a more fun 'Gloria' look. Any ideas welcomed.
It was awful doing this as the shower decided to spring a leak and drip, drip, drip on my head, so it was like water torture. I had to keep getting in and out of the bath (no mean feat) to check focus and exposure (and bubble coverage) and whether I was pulling a silly face. I think Gloria earned her glass of bubbly!

This is the latest one that I´ve done for the newspaper, I did it while visiting a friend in Madrid, and I took advantange of being in his studio so I could send the illustration on time. ( cuz Madrid its not where i live). I consider my self "fast" when I work, but this drawing went especially quick, and I realized that when you are working rapidly, things you've never done before,suddenly come to you.

Gloria is the storm that is battering Spain. Catalonia and the Mediterranean coast took the brunt of it. The Delta is 1/3 flooded with seawater. This is a direct result of the climate change... the Ebro is running high and muddy; as the result of the abundant rainfall our barranc turned into a flashflood for several hours. According to the old and wise, this is the worst storm in at least 70 years.

I opened a small door and found this amazing chapel with affresco baroque of the18th century in almost perfect conditions - one of the many plesant surprises while was going "castle to castle" in Bohemia, this one an hour from Prague. My friend had to endure my inborn curiosity as well as my "ahah" of delight as I drunk in the incredible History of her country.
