Vor den markanten Felsen der Rheinschlucht war die Ge 4/4 II 615 mit ihrem RE auf dem Weg nach Scuol zu sehen.
Zwischendrin gibt's mal wieder ein aktuelleres Foto: nach ergiebigen Schneefällen über die Weihnachtstage kam am 28.12. die Sonne heraus. Die Ge 4/4 III 650 befördert hier einen Sportzug aus Klosters nach Davos Platz.
Die zur Zeit einzigste werbelose Ge 4/4 III, die sich aktuell im Plandienst befindet, war mit einem Engadin Star nach St. Moritz unterwegs und konnte im Prättigau bei Saas abgelichtet werden.
Cap-Rouge. Résidence. À l'Instar des roselins familiers, cette espèce visite rarement mes mangeoires. Chez moi, l'absence de diversité est évidente. Notamment, les cardinaux et geais manquent à l'appel jusqu'à présent. Not abundant in my yard. Obvious lack of diversity.
Mit dem Erlebniszug "Rheinschlucht" war die Ge 6/6 II 703 bei Versam Safien auf dem Weg nach Ilanz zu sehen. Aktuell sind wieder vier Ge 6/6 II einsatzbereit, wobei meist nur eine oder zwei täglich im Verkehr stehen.

Die blaue 619 war mit Regio von Filisur auf dem Weg nach Davos und konnte kurz nach Start des Zuges abgelichtet werden.
Le coucou geai est un oiseau percheur au bec assez petit et légèrement arqué. Les parties supérieures sont brun foncé tachetées de blanc. Le contraste est frappant avec les parties inférieures jaune roussâtre chez les jeunes, blanc-crème chez les adultes. La calotte, noire chez les jeunes, est grise avec huppe chez les adultes. Les rémiges châtain-roux à pointe blanche chez les jeunes, sont brun-noir à pointe blanche chez les adultes. La queue longue est brun foncé terminée de blanc.
Alors que le Coucou gris choisit les parents adoptifs en priorité chez les passereaux insectivores, le coucou geai préfère les corvidés. Il confie généralement ses œufs à un corbeau, une Pie bavarde, une corneille ou un geai, mais tout corvidé doit s'attendre à trouver dans son nid un ou plusieurs œufs de coucou geai. Comme ils ont la même voix que leurs frères adoptifs, les jeunes du coucou geai vivent en harmonie avec eux. A la différence du Coucou gris, le jeune coucou geai ne jette pas ses frères adoptifs hors du nid, car les parents corvidés ramènent suffisamment de nourriture à l'intrus et à leurs propres petits, alors qu'un petit oiseau chanteur ne pourrait nourrir le Coucou gris en plus de ses oisillons.

Bis auf den neuen Steuerwagen am Zugschluss brachte diese Garnitur für ein paar Wochen nochmal den "alten Flair" an den Albula. Bei Tiefencastel war die Ge 4/4 II 621 auf dem Weg nach St. Moritz zu sehen.

Comme tous les "corvidés" ( oiseaux parents de la corneille ), le Geai bleu est un oiseau "intelligent ". Il sait se montrer opportuniste et aussi tyrannique envers les espèces de plus petites tailles.
Like all "corvids" (bird relatives of the crow), the Blue Jay is a "smart" bird. He knows how to be opportunistic and tyrannical towards smaller species.

It's a sunny autumn afternoon in the town of Grafton, WV as a pair of GE ET44AC's sit on an empty coal train in the yard as the rear end of an eastbound loaded coal train passes on the main. This train is likely bound for Sentinal Mine on the A&O to be loaded.
Přes zimu prošlo zelené TUčko 705.905 (T47.005) opravou, při které trošku víc zčervenalo (až zrudlo), a tentokrát připomíná verzi nátěru, které tyto lokomotivy dostávaly někdy v 70. letech. Na snímku jsem jej zachytil jako Os 21251 (N. Bystřice → J. Hradec) u dopravny Albeř dne 18. 4. 2026.
Ein seltener Anblick in Davos sind Mitlerweile Loks im Personenverkehr nach Landquart. Als die RhB einige ihrer Capricorn Züge benötigte um den Weltrekordzug zu bilden, wurden auf dem restlichen Netz vermehrt mit Lokbespannten Zügen gefahren. Gemäss Lokdienst war an diesem Zug noch die Ge 4/4 620 eingeteilt gewesen. In Küblis erlitt diese aber einen Defekt weshalb der Zug mit 62 Minuten verspätung in Davos eintraf. Am Zugschlusss ist noch ein Salonwagen und der Stiva Retica eingereiht.

Utah did not see much of snow this year. Two days after a limited snow storm, there is at least some powder along UPs Weber and Echo-Canyon route. UP #5781 (AC44CWCTE) along with three other GEs storms uphill at Peterson just mnutes after the sun had touched the ground.
Southbound CN Q19851-06 powers through the sag south of Lake Villa, IL on the Waukesha Sub. to complete a little mid-day Friday rail outing in the sun.
Providence & Worcester CT-1 is about to trip the Stones detector (MP-4.81) at Laydon Ave in North Haven. The three B39-8Es have an easy run south with only 10 loaded stone hoppers from the Reeds Gap quarry in Wallingford.
