A pile of GEs work the loop track at Shoreham and pull ahead after making their pickup. I was looking to get them going across the Mississippi, however, the pickup move simply took too much time. In any case, I got a fun view I had not tried yet.

A bunch of Dash 8s, including that pair of turds on EDSP, fill the scene at East Deerfield. It wasn't that long ago that this was an all-EMD railroad.
The power lines were much less of an issue with the old bridge.

Like all "corvids" (bird relatives of the crow), the Blue Jay is a "smart" bird. He knows how to be opportunistic and tyrannical towards smaller species.
FGLK's Sunday Sweep Train returning from Solvay to Geneva was always an easy catch, as it climbed up the hill past the historic Martisco station, and was a frequent and rewarding subject. On this summer 2012 day, B23-7 No. 2309 leads the ascent up the Alps, assisted by a GP-9.

Branford Steam railroad BSR3 with GE 85 tonner 7359 works the Tilcon quarry in North Branford, here they are filling up hoppers for Posillico on Long Island, Ny. BSR2 would bring these hoppers 6 miles south to the P&W interchange yard at Pine Orchard for Providence & Worcester to take to New York.
The rear DPU of CSX train K634 leans into the curve as it makes its way through Blue Cut, near Lyons, NY. The train had a pair of KCS GE's for power, and was setup in a 1x1 configuration, allowing for this afternoon shot of an eastbound train.
The annual late fall trip to New Hampshire for Thanksgiving in 2022 came with a rather difficult challenge. A week prior to this shot, a simple tumble turned into no longer having a telephoto lens at my disposal. With only my "pancake" 40, I had to get a wee bit creative with my selection of angles. On November 29th, I met up with my good friend Norm and we chased NECR 611 from Brattleboro to Belchertown. The GE invasion wasn't even a thought, but it was hard to pass up a quartet of matching and relatively clean EMDs. In a genuine fall scene, NECR 3478 leads 611 south across the Millers River and into Millers Falls, MA ultimately heading for Palmer with a good size train.
Big GE 655 leads a Binghamton bound Lanesboro Detour train at the old Erie coaling tower in Susquehanna, PA on 12/28/1985. This was supposedly the last Lanesboro detour train, so the Lanesboro helpers that assisted in the run around move on the Penn Division were left on the end of the train for the trip to Binghamton. The newly rebuilt tunnel was open for train traffic and the first train would pass thru it later that afternoon. After New Years, the Lanesboro detour was used again for a couple of days so that some final finishing work could be completed on the tunnel. Once the tunnel work was complete, the D&H Penn Division was gone forever. There were a few railfans on hand for the final move on the Penn Division, most notably the late J.J. Young Jr., and his photo essay from that final train was featured in an issue of Railpace as I recall. This day in December was my last hurrah however, and the last time I was ever at this location.
Utah did not see much of snow this year. Two days after a limited snow storm, there is at least some powder along UPs Weber and Echo-Canyon route. UP #5781 (AC44CWCTE) along with three other GEs storms uphill at Peterson just mnutes after the sun had touched the ground.
On 7.5.2020 Ge 4/4 II 618 is passing my camera with the train 1064 from Davos to Disentis. Due to the corona crisis, there are only hourly trains between Klosters and Landquart, which makes the arrival and departure by public transport a bit difficult. Nevertheless, I wanted to wait for the last sunny minutes of the day and take a picture of train 1064. Shortly afterwards the suns disappeared behind the mountains.
While the place had worked without problems in the previous years, this time I had to cut back the vegetation a little. But it won't be long before thick branches of a tree, as well as a bush, will close the sight.

With rescue power ahead of the regular train, Amtrak 694 (Amtrak 68 once it reaches CPKC rails) passes the L'Acadie siding in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Qc this past Saturday afternoon. Both southbound and northbound Adirondacks had been cancelled the previous day. As far as I know, this is the first time a 9700-series P42C made its way to Canada.
