Tous les bâtiments de la Ménagerie du Jardin des Plantes sont classés aux Monuments Historiques. Le plus ancien c'est
la Rotonde, construite sous Napoléon, entre 1802 et 1812, sur les plans de Jacques Molinos, qui s'est inspiré d'une rosette de la Légion d'honneur. Elle a notamment servi à présenter des éléphants et des girafes. Aujourd'hui, les enclos extérieurs sont utilisés pour présenter les tortues géantes des Seychelles et les grues à cou blanc.

Le coucou geai est un oiseau percheur au bec assez petit et légèrement arqué. Les parties supérieures sont brun foncé tachetées de blanc. Le contraste est frappant avec les parties inférieures jaune roussâtre chez les jeunes, blanc-crème chez les adultes. La calotte, noire chez les jeunes, est grise avec huppe chez les adultes. Les rémiges châtain-roux à pointe blanche chez les jeunes, sont brun-noir à pointe blanche chez les adultes. La queue longue est brun foncé terminée de blanc.
Alors que le Coucou gris choisit les parents adoptifs en priorité chez les passereaux insectivores, le coucou geai préfère les corvidés. Il confie généralement ses œufs à un corbeau, une Pie bavarde, une corneille ou un geai, mais tout corvidé doit s'attendre à trouver dans son nid un ou plusieurs œufs de coucou geai. Comme ils ont la même voix que leurs frères adoptifs, les jeunes du coucou geai vivent en harmonie avec eux. A la différence du Coucou gris, le jeune coucou geai ne jette pas ses frères adoptifs hors du nid, car les parents corvidés ramènent suffisamment de nourriture à l'intrus et à leurs propres petits, alors qu'un petit oiseau chanteur ne pourrait nourrir le Coucou gris en plus de ses oisillons.

With heat slows limiting the train to a blistering 10 mph, my chase of this trio was rather easy, until the powers that be ordered it to be tied down until later in the evening.

Die ohne Werbung versehene Ge 4/4 III 648 war mit einem RE von Landquart nach Davos Platz unterwegs und konnte hier kurz nach dem Davoser See abgelichtet werden.

Siccome non era possibile fotografare il treno merci pomeridiano dell’Albula sul versante engadinese, che quando viene raggiunto è già quasi totalmente in ombra, ci spostiamo brevemente a Filisur per la foto della Ge 6/6 “Davos”.
Weil es nicht mehr möglich war, der am Nachmittag fahrende Albula-Güterzug auf der Engadiner Seite mit Sonne aufzunehmen, verschoben wir uns kurzzeitig nach Filisur. Dort konnte die Ge 6/6 “Davos” fotografiert werden.

Ein seltener Anblick in Davos sind Mitlerweile Loks im Personenverkehr nach Landquart. Als die RhB einige ihrer Capricorn Züge benötigte um den Weltrekordzug zu bilden, wurden auf dem restlichen Netz vermehrt mit Lokbespannten Zügen gefahren. Gemäss Lokdienst war an diesem Zug noch die Ge 4/4 620 eingeteilt gewesen. In Küblis erlitt diese aber einen Defekt weshalb der Zug mit 62 Minuten verspätung in Davos eintraf. Am Zugschlusss ist noch ein Salonwagen und der Stiva Retica eingereiht.
The annual late fall trip to New Hampshire for Thanksgiving in 2022 came with a rather difficult challenge. A week prior to this shot, a simple tumble turned into no longer having a telephoto lens at my disposal. With only my "pancake" 40, I had to get a wee bit creative with my selection of angles. On November 29th, I met up with my good friend Norm and we chased NECR 611 from Brattleboro to Belchertown. The GE invasion wasn't even a thought, but it was hard to pass up a quartet of matching and relatively clean EMDs. In a genuine fall scene, NECR 3478 leads 611 south across the Millers River and into Millers Falls, MA ultimately heading for Palmer with a good size train.

La Pomme du Géant rend hommage à l’ancien séquoia géant du parc René-Cassin à Issoire. Cet arbre remarquable de la ville, abattu le 20 septembre 2021, a marqué le quotidien des Issoiriens et des visiteurs du parc durant de longues années.
L’œuvre est sculptée à la tronçonneuse, directement dans une grume du séquoia abattu, lui donnant ainsi une deuxième vie dans le parc qui l’a vu grandir. La forme s’inspire d’une vraie pomme de séquoia géant, qui a des proportions et des motifs bien spécifiques, la sculpture en est une version agrandie environ cinquante fois.

You sell them to Brazil, extend the platforms to fit narrow-gauge eight-wheel trucks and put them back in service. This old boat is hauling a limestone train as our friend and guide Pedro gets a shot. This unit started life in 1984 as SP B36-7 7763.

Seit einiger Zeit wirbt die Ge 4/4 III 649 für die Zeitschrift "20 Minuten". Am Davoser See konnte die Lok mit einem RE aus Landquart im letzten Licht fotografiert werden.
RhB Ge 4/4 II al traino del Glacier Express alla stazione di Valendas-Sagogn, nella "Ruinaulta", la gola formata dal Reno tra Ilanz e Reichenau. La ferrovia è quella che da Coira porta a Disentis/Mustér, punto di collegamento con la Matterorn Gotthard Bahn, che da lì prenderà in carico il treno fino a Zermatt.
