The conference took place on September 20 and 21 in the EYE filmmuseum in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Thanks to Br Damien who allowed Tom Murphy and myself go through the Roll Books on Monday the 29 July 2019. We only concentrated on people born in the 1940s and 1950s. and 1960s. Some of the roll books are mislaid or badly torn and there was a lot of cleaning up to on some of the ones shown in this photo Album. If you don't know your name in Irish or you want to confirm if it is your name is listed there are addresses listed separate so you can check if your address is there. I did not put them together for GDPR reasons.
Die Tabelle zeigt, unter welchen Voraussetzungen zweckändernde Weiterverarbeitungen personenbezogener Daten nach der bis zum 24. Mai 2018 geltenden Fassung des Bundesdatenschutzgesetzes zulässig waren.
Dies ist nicht nur von rechtshistorischem Interesse. Ein Vergleich mit der seit dem 25. Mai 2018 geltenden Datenschutz-Grundverordnung zeigt vielmehr, dass die alte Rechtslage deutlich präziser war und daher auch mehr Rechtssicherheit versprach.
Zweckändernde Weiterverarbeitungen sind nach Art. 6 IV DS-GVO nur noch unter drei Voraussetzungen zulässig:
1) Es liegt eine Einwilligung in die Weiterverarbeitung vor.
2) Eine Rechtsvorschrift der EU oder eines EU-Mitgliedstaates erlaubt die Weiterverarbeitung.
3) Eine Kompatibilitätsprüfung ergibt, dass die Verarbeitung zu einem anderen Zweck mit dem Zweck, zu dem die personenbezogenen Daten ursprünglich erhoben wurden, vereinbar ist.
Die Tragweite dieser Regelung wird in Theorie und Praxis derzeit nicht wirklich erkannt. Vielfach wird die Regelung völlig übersehen. Nach welchen Maßstäben die Kompatibilitätsprüfung vorzunehmen ist, ist weitgehend unklar.

Policymakers around the world are grappling with how to manage the effects of current and future digital technologies on society, particularly in the areas of privacy, free expression, and other fundamental freedoms. The experience to date with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has generated questions on how greater transparency and notice to internet users can effectively protect privacy. Meanwhile, U.S. regulators and Congress are actively considering similar steps to strengthen data protection and penalize social media companies for transgressing consumers’ rights. Hosted by the Foreign Policy program at Brookings, the sixth annual Justice Stephen Breyer Lecture on International Law examined these issues at the intersection of comparative law, technology, ethics, and human rights. Jeroen van den Hoven, professor of ethics and technology at Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands, gave keynote remarks. He was then be joined for a panel discussion by Cameron Kerry, former general counsel at the U.S. Department of Commerce and distinguished fellow at Brookings, and Bilyana Petkova, assistant professor of international and European law at Maastricht University and fellow-in-residence at the Electronic Privacy Information Center. Nicol Turner Lee, fellow in the Brookings Center for Technology Innovation, moderated the discussion. After the program, the speakers answered questions from the audience.
