DATA STEWARDSHIP FOR A DIGITAL AGE
Russian bots and fake-ad buys have become part of our social lexicon, thanks to the recent Facebook-Cambridge Analytica data imbroglio, but it would be a huge mistake to think that the impact is limited to the tech titans. As companies seek to use their data for competitive advantage, how do you make sure you are protecting it and doing so in a trustworthy way? Maintaining ethical and efficient control over an ever-increasing data flow has become necessary to maintain customer trust. A conversation on best practices in data stewardship, the biggest missteps to avoid across all sectors, and the key privacy trends in data democratization, deep learning, and GDPR.

Making digital images from color negs.
I found my old slide copier lens w. slide frame mount and white diffuser screen. Mounted it on a full frame camera and started copying old color negs. Simply inverting the colors in Photoshop just doesn't do the trick. The colors suck big time. I found out, that I needed af plug-in for Lightroom: Negative Lab Pro. Works nicely. I have blurred the woman's face in the image centre - GDPR rules, you know.. The slide copier looks like this: www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/903100-REG/kaiser_206506_d...
Where Do The GDPR Laws Apply? Well, (GDPR) General Data Protection Regulation is a legal framework for all kinds of organizations that defines a set of rules and regulations to process sensitive information. It applies to the organizations in the EU and businesses that work with the EU offering different goods and services.
On July 19, as part of a continuing series of discussions with EU parliamentary leaders on digital economy issues, Governance Studies at Brookings hosted EU Member of Parliament Sophie in ’t Veld to discuss data privacy and civil liberties. As a longtime member of the Parliament’s Civil Liberties, Justice, and Home Affairs Committee (LIBE) and a member of the Parliament’s Alliance of Liberals and Democrats (ALDE), in ’t Veld has been at the forefront of debates about data protection as well as government access to data and sharing of data among governments. How will the EU enter into a CLOUD Act agreement with the U.S.? How will the EU’s proposed e-Evidence Regulation affect the level of protection in the EU? How might other events affect the future of transatlantic data transfers? And what emerging threats pose the greatest risk to data protection in the EU and U.S.?

GDPR Laws - a Different Slant

Gordon Smith in the past has called himself Enforcement Manager, Glasgow. He now calls himself Enforcement Manager, Edinburgh. Very odd. This inappropriate letter may therefore have been sent when not in control of his faculties.
The demand to keep TV Licensing regularly informed when no television licence is required is not covered by legislation, and contrary to GDPR.

It is highly valuable to increase awareness in terms of sensitive data protection law processes amongst employees; and provide them with the necessary knowledge so that they’re able to comply with the new requirements of the GDPR.

No licence is required at this address, and the information Gordon Smith has is correct and up-to-date, but he has his funny little ways, one of which is his belief that households not requiring a TV licence have a duty to provide information about it. Perhaps he has not read the legislation and was asleep when GDPR was introduced.
You know. We know. There's no TV Licence at this address. We know this because our database holds information for all 32 million UK addresses. So you can expect a visit from our Enforcement Officers. You need to know this, too. It is an offence to watch or record live TV programmes on any channel, or download or watch BBC programmes on iPlayer, without being covered by a licence. It could result in a fine of up to £1,000 plus any legal costs and/or compensation you may be ordered to pay. This applies to any device you use, including a TV, desktop computer, laptop, mobile phone, tablet, games console, digital box or DVD/VHS recorder. To stop this Enforcement Visit: Buy a TV Licence at tvlicensing.co.uk/pay with payments starting from £6.00 a week. Or, move an existing licence to your current address at tvlicensing.co.uk/moving Or, tell us you don't need one at tvlicensing.co.uk/noTV For help with any of the above, please call 0300 790 6097 or turn over for more information. Ignore this letter and an Officer may visit soon. Yours faithfully, Gordon Smith Enforcement Manager, Glasgow Please do not write below this line.
Information security has always been a matter of concern for all organizations, especially for those outsourcing their key business operation to third-party vendors. SOC 2 Audit is a procedure that ensures service providers securely manage an organization’s business-critical data and protect the interests and privacy of its clients. For security-conscious businesses, SOC 2 compliance is a basic requirement when considering a SaaS provider.
For those who are new to compliance, it’s easy to get confused with SOC 2 Type 1 and SOC 2 Type 2 Audit. SOC 2 Type 1 is different from Type 2, wherein the Type 1 report assesses the design of security processes at a given time, and the SOC 2 Type 2 audit report assesses the effectiveness of controls. If that was not confusing enough, SOC 2 is different from SOC 1, and SOC 3, which focuses on an organization’s financial statements and financial reporting.
For a better understanding of what SOC 2 Audit is and to learn the difference between SOC 2 Type 1 & SOC 2 Type 2, we have come up with this informative video that will help clear all doubts. Join us by watching our video that summaries about SOC 2 Type 1 Vs Type 2 and learn about the key differences.
