I've already heard from some people that the rainbow was a $50,000 effect, but I don't believe it. I mean, it rained for goodness sake, and the sun was breaking through the clouds during sunset. Yes, it was positioned pretty much perfectly over Levi's Stadium, but I still think it was totally real.

I've been a deadhead since the early 1990s, and I got to see the band with Jerry Garcia six times. After I moved to Reno in 2008, I went to California for several Grateful Dead related events: The Dead in 2009, Phil Lesh's 70th Birthday celebration, and several Furthur shows. When they announced the 50th Anniversary shows, I knew that I had to go, especially after the California shows were added. It has been a real treat to see the boys on their home turf, but I am kind of sad that this is it. I took this photo during the second set closer, "Sugar Magnolia."
