8mm ASC Long assault sub-carbine.
The precursor to GC's best selling submachine gun. Equipped with several features at a reasonable price, it has found favor with even the most stoic of shooters, both civilian and military.
Built up from a HK UMP, all components, even the magazine, has been extensively modified to accommodate the 8mm ASC Long this weapon fires. The iron sights are even replaced with holographic ones that can be switched off when not needed.
While only available to special forces and some militaries, the blocky barrel attachment placed at the front end of the firearm is an experimental suppressor brake, with the brake half removing half of the gases generated from the high power cartridge, and the suppressor removing the rest, effectively removing all muzzle flash and nearly silencing its report.
An adjustable ergonomic foregrip is also packaged with all ASC-100 evaluation packages, allowing additional stability for all hands.
Lastly, the stock has a retractable stabilizer that attaches to the top-bottom end of the firearm, further increasing stability.
Notably used by the 91st Paratrooper Division, 18th SAR Unit, also known as the White Peregrines.

A friend of mine married secretly last year and then sent me a wedding card, on which he posed with the bride in front of this vehicle. He knows about my passion for license plates and was curious to see if I knew what kind of license plate this one was. Of course I knew about it and I was very happy about this coincidence. I could then discover the same car (which is probably mainly used for such photos) at the Battle of the Nations monument(Völkerschlachtdenkmal) in Leipzig and capture it in a photo. Current Spanish characteristics are quite common here, the older ones, which show a regional origin, unfortunately only rarely. So far, I've only been successful a handful times.

Grand Central Class 180 DMU No. 180104 with 1A81 0810 Bradford Interchange - London Kings Cross approaches Werrington Junction having run via the GN-GE Joint. This was due to a planned engineering possession on the ECML between Newark North Gate & Peterborough on the 18.11.2018.
The 104 job seems to have a regular routine in the afternoons. Today was no exception as they rolled north off of the Illinois Transfer at "GC Cutoff" and headed up to grab coke empties to deliver to the Coke Works in Granite City.
GC Cutoff is the crossing of the Illinois Transfer main (also used heavily by NS trains from the Southern heading to / from Luther) and the Eastern Connection. Back in the day heading to the left the NKP, CNW and IC had connections with the TRRA. SH Tower is directly behind me.

Continuing with the GC after a brief German interlude, here's one last shot of the GP38-2 era. For just a brief bit it seemed this was the future of the Georgia Central, as it was for so many G&W properties at the time. Then came news the railroad was acquiring ex-NS B32-8s from Wabtec.
It's funny how things go. GP38-2s just seem to be good, reliable shortline power for so many lines; I even wrote an article for The Short Line magazine years ago about how I viewed this model as the "new" GP9 of sorts for modern shortlines as they displaced first generation power so many places.
Not so with the Georgia Central. They seem to be a GE team, if you will. Like someone who supports a team that in your opinion isn't very good but there's no talking that person out of why their team is so much better than anyone else's. Talking with some employees about the GP38-2s all I got was head shakes and words over what junk these units were. "The old U23Bs pulled better, I'd rather have them over these things."
Wish granted...the GP38-2s are all gone and the Georgia Central is again a "GE team."
This is the Y115 International Paper woodchip shuttle bringing in loads from Faulkville passing an old Seaboard Airline signal (although the bottom aspect appears to be ACL) that guards an NS interlocking ahead. I would not be surprised if 2138 traversed the crossing line in its former life as SOU/NS 5031.
I can feel the coastal Georgia summer heat and humidity just looking at this one. This was around 10am and the temperature was already into the 90s.
My entry into round two of the Hardsuit All-stars Contest.
Largest mecha that I've ever built.
Every inch has been worked and re-worked.
It still may be updated if I get the time to do so.
C&C welcome!
