Anoche te vi, Santa María

Yo recuerdo la perla ay gitanita mia cuando no estabas en via

Mira que pelito, mira que carita, que andares llevabas

Flores a tu paso los balonces tiraban, ¡ay! tiraban.

780ft above sea level, with stoodley pike (pennine way) visible in the distance... There is a small 'beach' at the far corner which attracts swimmers.

This was the last bitterly cold morning of the winter. I hiked up in the dark and found the early morning light reflected on the ice - exactly what I’d hoped for!

East to Hammat Gader is the place of two crucial battles in the Holy Land - fought in the Yarmuk valley. The Arabs battled against the Byzantine armies in two battles - the 1st Yarmuk battle (634 AD) and the 2nd Yarmuk battle (August 20, 636). The 2nd battle was an important milestone - it signaled the end of the Roman/Byzantine presence of 560 years.

The site was destroyed after the Arab conquest. Many years later it was rebuilt and the town was named El-Kham

After a 2.5 mile hike in really strong wind Andy Farrer and I got to this point close to Gad Cliff and decided this was the spot for todays session.

Unfortunately sunrise was a bit of a disappointment but the dark clouds and sky made for a quite moody scene and after walking all that way I was not going back with an empty memory card !!!

I recently received a message from Dom Haughton www.flickr.com/photos/126574513@N04 /who very kindly asked me to join him at Trevose Head for a photoshoot as he would be in a nearby town for the afternoon being looked after by his 2 year old grandson.

Very sadly I had to decline Dom’s kind offer as Mrs P and I were going to be up country gadding around for a couple of days, wink, wink.

However the mention of Trevose got me thinking (steady, I know what’s going through your minds, thinking, that’s above your pay grade Bri).

So I went out into our garages to see what was in our deep freeze, can you see where this is going. Well Mrs P stores raw meet in the deep freeze, therefore I thought there might be some RAW files of mine in there chilling out and sure enough I came across this one for you to have a gander at.

Before I go, must tell you this. We were in a local shoe shop trying on some of those hands free slip in things you see on TV adverts, ideal me thinks, save all that bending over and faffing around following a few glasses of falling down juice when a frog came leaping into the shop.

An assistant asked the frog if they could help, yes he said have you any open toad shoes!

Have a lovely weekend, hope you enjoy my photos as much as I enjoy taking them.

Your comments and banter are so appreciated 👍🍺🍺🍺😎🍷🍷🍷😂😂😂

A gadwell duck. Really handsome birds. Just loved the reflection - not the best angle!
