Lyrics

What up, ha?

Uh

I still believe in it, fear not

No strings attached, tongues out with your shell tops

Like Run-DMC wore, was lovin' you before

The G4s, yacht parties out on Capri shores

Ain't from Maryland, but I think we could be more of an item (uh-huh)

Size right on my ices (uh-huh)

Trust me, nothing like 'em (at all)

Was times I would F they minds before I pipe 'em (I know)

Make 'em feel like the love of my life before I psych 'em

Well, it's a whole new day, a whole new wave

Ain't worried 'bout nothing

Everything's looking up, yeah

Well, I was going through a phase, stuck in old ways

Always thinkin' somethin'

Like I ain't never good enough, yeah

I been thinkin' of the time I wasted

I been lookin' in all the wrong places for love

That really brought me down, yeah

I'm so sick of being sad or lonely

Until I can find the one I know I need

I'll never give up on me, no

I still believe in love, ooh

Oh, love

Shoo-bee-doo-bee-doo-doo

I still believe in love, huh-huh

Still believe in love (oh, love)

Huh, huh, huh

Still believe in love

I still believe in

Just 'cause you see me alone and I'm all on my own

It don't mean a thing

Just know I could find me somebody so easily, yeah

I can't lower my standards

I demand a guy to treat me like the queen that I be

In the middle of the night, fantasize he only thinkin' 'bout me

I been thinkin' of the time I wasted

I been lookin' in all the wrong places for love

That really brought me down, yeah

I'm so sick of being sad and lonely

Until I can find the one, I know I need

I'll never give up on me, no

I still believe in love, ooh

Oh, love

Shoo-bee-doo-bee-doo-doo

I still believe in love, huh-huh (uh-huh)

Still believe in love (oh, love)

Huh, huh, huh

Still believe in love

I still believe in love

Uh-oh, oh-ooh, oh, uh

Oh, love (I do)

Shoo-bee-doo-bee-doo-doo (I do)

I still believe in love, huh-huh (yes, I do)

Still believe in love (still believe)

Huh, huh, huh (in love)

Still believe in love

I still believe in (uh)

My money is still attractive

Honey you're still the baddest

That OG status, elite savage

I pray for you

Them tough times made me made for you

Wish I was there to do them days with you

God bless you, you special

I first met you you was movin' with somethin'

But I could tell you was losin' your, uh

You wasn't used to that swag

Chanel bags, yeah, you used to a ton

It goes back with men abusing the fun

I was one of 'em

Fresh from Essence

Harlem fly legend

Could tell he be flexin'

Pharrell LV dressin'

Collection

To see you happy be a blessin'

Guessin' no more stressin'

Yes, me and you was destined (huh)

Still believe the shit

Bad energy, negativity, leave that shit (uh)

I respect your following and your leadership (uh)

You the captain of my boat, you can lead the ship

I still believe in love, oh (uh-huh, I still believe)

Oh, love

Shoo-bee-doo-bee-doo-doo (yeah-oh)

I still believe in love, huh-huh (said I still believe)

Still believe in love (in love)

Huh, huh, huh (yeah, yeah)

Still believe in love

I still believe in

Ever feel like this is what's waiting for you at the office?

seanhfoto and I in tampa. it was great meeting sean after emailing/commenting back and forth for so long on flickr. you should see the photographic crack den he works in! hasselblad everywhere, clustered G4s, cool and mesmerizing props everywhere you look. im glad my amazement outshone my jealousy. sean then took us to a fantastic cuban hole in the wall for lunch. everything tradicional, authentico! the smell of garlic grabbed your cortex when you walked in. we talked about flickr (duhs) and dogs and the rain in florida - thanks for everything sean. we had a great time. next time dinner and drinks are on me!

Dory sez:

"I can feel it in m' boanes that something is going off at Brushtail Mousie headquarters at 1 Rodent Way, The Skirting Board, Vienna.

There is a notice on the main door that reads -"NO ENTRY for the PLEBS under ANY circumstances!" Offical-looking G4S Security BunBuns are guarding the main entrance, all of them displaying their mandatory SIS authorisation ID badges. What a ridiculous-looking bunch of fur-balls they all are! I've just sent Porshie Beetle to sneak in under the door - he says that there is a VERY sophisticated-looking digital copying machine there churning out PILES of funny munny! I can just hear the whirring machinery sounds from here!

Oh, wait a minute now - Brushtail has just appeared in front of the main door carrying some neatly bound wads of banknotes and is holding a press conference in front of a huge group of media reporters, eager to dissect and analyse every word! What she says can rock the stock markets you see!

She has just announced a hostile takeover of Alpbachtal Cheese Manufacturing A.G., financed mostly by a cash for shares swap deal!"

Editor's note:

"I'd advise the board of directors at Alpbachtal A.G. to carefully examine the bank notes BEFORE signing the takeover documents - there could be some hanky-panky going on there methinks!"

With a different lens.

Many thanks to the security staff at More London for allowing me to take photographs here, far more lenient than the G4S security who were patrolling London in the lead up to the Olympics last year. I still felt quite pressured though, they really don't like photographers with tripods, but he gave me a few minutes to get my shot.

I've hired out the 24mm tilt/shift lens and it came in very handy when photographing this building. Takes some getting used to but worth the extra effort.

On another note, I've launched my Wild Surrey project on Kickstarter so do please take a look here.

A similar view from Kulem is (used to be) beautiful but Subrahmanya Road is on a different level altogether, thanks to the towering mountains with Shola forests providing an imposing background.

2022 was most definitely the last Monsoon for this stunning diesel heaven; by this time next year one can expect this to be just a shadow of its current glory, thanks to the so-called circus going on.

Ignore the weird artifacts in the top portion of the sky, this was not shot on a DSLR and I had to pull out a lot of detail in the clouds to make that amazing Lenticular cloud formation more visible.

This relief sculpture, on display at Grounds for Sculpture, near Hamilton, New Jersey, is more than eighty feet wide.

Taken just outside Borough Market in London Bridge London. I don't know what is going on other than to say nobody seemed to be in a panic. The security guard seemed ok but I have no way of knowing the full story.

The uncanny resemblance of one of the G4S security staff to Agent Smith of the Matrix films complete with tinted glasses and earpiece caught my eye and I made a suitable remark, which I don't think was hugely welcome! Staff here are "tolerant" to photography strictly from the perimeter fence and public footpath, so are obtained without any form of trespass, so no agent Smith, I'm not going to delete my photographs. No high speed kick boxing ensued fortunately....

Sculpture cleaning up sculpture.

(Continued from previous photo) The original sculpture of this man, sorting through his brief case prior to a business meeting, was placed in Manhattan as a tribute to the business people who work in the city. When the World Trade Center went down in 2001, it was covered with ashes, and a little bit damaged, but it remained on the bench where it had been placed, a couple of decades before.

Helicopter heist - “HelikopterrĂ„net”

In the early morning of 23 September 2009 a Jet Ranger (SE-HON) was stolen from Roslagens Helikopterflyg’s hangar at Mellingeholm Airfield in NorrtĂ€lje. The helicopter was flown to Frescati/Stora Skuggan moments prior to 05:00 in the morning. It picked up some equipment and continued to the G4S Cash Deposit in VĂ€stberga, a few kilometers southwest of downtown Stockholm. The stolen helicopter landed on the roof of the deposit building, inserted three robbers with ladders and weapons, took off to wait for the money to be collected, returned to pick up the gang and the money, and left to the southwest; all in roughly 30 minutes. In the meantime the police set up a perimeter around the robbery in progress, but they were unable to interfere with the helicopter due to the risk of harming innocent bystanders. The Swedish Police Wings’s own EC135 helicopters were grounded after two boxes with dummy explosives had been placed outside the entrance doors to the hangar at Myttinge Heliport the same morning.

The stolen helicopter left people and money at two locations in the suburbs – Draget/Norsborg and Kaananbadet/Grimsta – before it continued to Skavlöten/Arninge in the north of Stockholm. It was then left on a field near the forest.

Aftermath

The helicopter was found abandoned, without any damages, around 08:00 in the morning. The heist became an instant top story worldwide, with prominent media like CNN, BBC and AP reporting about the robbery. The robbers got away with an estimated 39 million SEK, approx €3,86 million EUR at Sep 2009 exchange rate.

Returning the helicopter to service

Following a full scan by the bomb squad (which caused the only known damage to the helicopter), and an external on-scene investigation by the forensics, the helicopter was transported to Patria Helicopter’s maintenance station at Arlanda Airport for the internal investigation. The helicopter was soon returned to Roslagens Helikopterflyg, which set up extensive maintenance checks of the airframe and engine prior to returning the helicopter to its service as a flight trainer in NorrtĂ€lje.

Suspects

Several people were arrested within a few days, including a 34-year-old experienced private helicopter pilot that lived in the Stockholm region. On 7 October 2010 Södertörn District Court sentenced two people, one of them being the pilot, to seven years in prison for aggravated robbery. Four people were convicted for complicity to aggravated robbery and sentenced in a range of 2-5 years in prison. One person was convicted for protecting criminals and he was sentenced to imprisonment for one year. Three previously suspected defendants were set free.

On 16 February 2011 the Svea Court of Appeal strengthened three of the District Court’s verdicts, including a sentence of eight years in prison for the pilot instead of seven. The pilot appealed to the Supreme Court, but the plea was declined on 16 October 2013.

Echoes of the heist

The event on 23 September 2009 was the first robbery involving a helicopter in Swedish history. It was, to Nordic Rotors’ knowledge, the third time a helicopter was stolen in Sweden. The first case involved a Hughes 500 (SE-HTG) in 1991, and the second more unclear case involved a Bell 206 (SE-HVE) in 2004.

The helicopter heist caused quite some commotion regarding the Swedish Police Wing’s inability to take off from its temporary (2005-2009) helicopter base at Myttinge/VĂ€rmdö due to the suspected bombs that had easily been placed adjacent to the hangar prior to the robbery. The helicopters were instantly moved to Arlanda Airport, where the perimeter protection was deemed adequate. The National Police took the formal decision to establish a permanent helicopter base at Arlanda on 29 February 2012.

I don't think she was into it.
