This is an after concert photo of Steve with friend and Rudi Protrudi and Lana Loveland from the band the Fuzztones. I went to the concert with Rudi and Lana. I am always happy to promote and support whatever they do.

Welcome to the 10th anniversary of The Big Enchilada!!!!! And just like my very first podcast back in October 2008, it's another Halloween show. So brace yourself, Bridget, it's a twitchy, witchy, blood-suckin', flesh-eatin' nightmare of an episode and there's not a ghost of a chance that you won't love it.
Remind your loved ones that The Big Enchilada is officially listed in the iTunes store. So go subscribe, if you haven't already (and gimme a good rating and review if you're so inclined.) Thanks.
Here's the playlist:

Speaking of Lenny Dee, here's another of his later, soft-pop albums. There's even a glimpse of discreet fuzztone guitar hovering around.
Whatever this young woman might have to do with organ solos is a subject best not contemplated. The real point of posting this is to show the back cover.
The original & outrageous Screamin' Jay Hawkins touting on his saxophone with a Reslo CR Ribbon Microphone at the famous Ricky-Tick Club in Windsor, 1965, the same club where the likes of Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton all performed. Famously the club was also featured in the cult classic film, Michelangelo Antonioni's "Blow-Up". See the clip of The Yardbirds with Jeff Beck & Jimmy Page on the Reslosound Youtube channel here: www.youtube.com/reslosound#p/c/AE12F8F3E6241FE6/70/YHNL5_...
Screamin' Jay Hawkins' stage show involved several voodoo styled themed including snakes, shrunken heads, and his faithful companion, a skull named Henry. He also used fireworks & flash powder at a time when no-one else did. His show started with him being carried onto stage in a coffin, from which he leaped, as if rising from the dead, sending his audience into a frenzy, don't forget this is in 1965!
His first ever release was also his most famous song "I Put a Spell On You" was released on the Okeh/Epic label in 1956, other songs include "Constipation Blues", "Alligator Wine" & "It's That Time Again". He also released a live EP with cult garage band The Fuzztones.

Introductory issue of the Fuzz Buzz fanzine, free with the first copies of "Leave your mind at home" mini LP.
I shot this photo in 1989 on the cliffs of La Jolla California. I was taking a film class and we had just completed shooting on 8MM.
I lost contact with a lot of my close friends when I moved to France. I recently found the 8mm film I shot and had it converted to digital. It's pretty bad now that I see it today. It is pure jabberwocky but it was during one of the best times of my life living in San Diego. I had been playing in the 60's Garage revival movement along side bands like the The Tell Tale Hearts, The Mummies, The Untamed Youth, Witch Doctors, Fuzztones, etc.

This is from a series I did around 1986 called "The Life and Times of Gizmo Fuzztone".
This series never got finished. Ran out of money. A crying shame. This particular one, eh, I forcked up. I tried to get to cute and use a deadly slow film for the grain--these were intended to be very large prints-- but I over-exposed dreadfully. Well I was distracted: a junkie set the building on fire while we were adjusting the lights. Lupus Yonderboy is the main model for the show. It took two days to make all the little black pustules in the prop lab and over an hour for make-up to glue them on.
Oh, and the nurse puking in the wastebasket is famous Canadian director Terri Snelgrove. She used to be a Newfoundlander and we called her "Teff" then. She was afraid to do this scene because she was afraid of actuially barfing by reflex, so I made her some delicious chowder. All she had to do was hold it in her mouth then open it on cue and let it fall out. Too much info? It was very tasty chowder anyway.
