The future appeals to the imagination and the idea of time travel is a wonderful starting point for a science fiction film or series. The futuristic images of earlier science fiction films and series from the 70s and 80s are the reality of today. The best-known examples are the internet and our smartphones. Fiction sometimes becomes reality and reality overtakes the fiction of the past. I had such thoughts when I first saw this beautiful and impressive futuristic public artwork in Wroclaw, Poland. I like colors, but sometimes the choice for a black and white photo is just a little more appropriate. It makes this photo just a little more futuristic. In Wroclaw there are many islands. This special sculpture with the name Nawa is located on the Daliowa Island in the downtown part of the nice city. The city has more bridges than Venice or Giethoorn, but this aside. The Polish world famous Oskar Zięta designed the masterpiece. The architect and designer has won several international awards and received several nominations. A chair designed by him can be found in the Center Pompidou in Paris and he uses the very important and mindblowing sculpture technique FiDU. Fidu is also described as internal printing layout. To create this public installation, the cavities have been blown up between the plates and welded back to the edge. This is the most flexible metal forming technique ever used without the use of tools. It is highly recommended to walk and stand under this reflective and shiny work of art. It is made up of 35 metal arches. Also very interesting is that software has been used in the design where blocks are generated based on input of combined parameters. This creates certain shapes that can positively surprise even the maker of the image. The parameters also ensure that the object is automatically adapted to the environment. The planted vegetation around it creates an organic unity that emerges naturally from the river next to it, with tourists passing by again and again in admiration. Welcome to the future of the present.

przyszłość przemawia do wyobraźni, a idea podróży w czasie jest wspaniałym punktem wyjścia dla filmu lub serialu science fiction. Futurystyczne obrazy z wcześniejszych filmów i seriali science fiction z lat 70. i 80. to dzisiejsza rzeczywistość. Najbardziej znanymi przykładami są internet i nasze smartfony. Fikcja czasami staje się rzeczywistością, a rzeczywistość wyprzedza fikcję z przeszłości. Miałem takie myśli, kiedy po raz pierwszy zobaczyłem to piękne i imponujące futurystyczne dzieło sztuki we Wrocławiu. Lubię kolory, ale czasami wybór czarno-białego zdjęcia jest po prostu trochę bardziej odpowiedni. To sprawia, że to zdjęcie jest trochę bardziej futurystyczne. We Wrocławiu jest wiele wysp. Ta wyjątkowa rzeźba o imieniu Nawa znajduje się na Wyspie Daliowej w śródmiejskiej części ładnego miasta. Miasto ma więcej mostów niż Wenecja czy Giethoorn. Arcydzieło zaprojektował polski światowej sławy Oskar Zięta. Architekt i projektant zdobył kilka międzynarodowych nagród i otrzymał kilka nominacji. Zaprojektowane przez niego krzesło znajduje się w Centre Pompidou w Paryżu, a sam artysta wykorzystuje bardzo ważną i oszałamiającą technikę rzeźbiarską FiDU. Fidu jest również określany jako wewnętrzny układ drukarski. Aby stworzyć tę publiczną instalację, wnęki między płytami zostały wysadzone w powietrze i przyspawane z powrotem do krawędzi. Jest to najbardziej elastyczna technika formowania metalu, jaka kiedykolwiek była stosowana bez użycia narzędzi. Zdecydowanie zaleca się spacer i stanie pod tym odblaskowym i błyszczącym dziełem sztuki. Składa się z 35 metalowych łuków. Bardzo interesujące jest również to, że w projekcie wykorzystano oprogramowanie, w którym bloki są generowane na podstawie wprowadzonych połączonych parametrów. Tworzy to pewne kształty, które mogą pozytywnie zaskoczyć nawet twórcę obrazu. Parametry zapewniają również automatyczne dostosowanie obiektu do otoczenia. Sadzona wokół niego roślinność tworzy organiczną całość, która w naturalny sposób wyłania się z pobliskiej rzeki, a turyści wciąż na nowo przechodzą z podziwem. Witamy w przyszłości teraźniejszości.

De toekomst spreekt tot de verbeelding, en het idee van tijdreizen is een mooi uitgangspunt voor een sciencefictionfilm of -serie. Futuristische beelden uit eerdere sciencefictionfilms en tv-series uit de jaren 70 en 80 zijn de realiteit van vandaag. De bekendste voorbeelden zijn internet en onze smartphones. Fictie wordt soms werkelijkheid, en de werkelijkheid haalt de fictie uit het verleden in. Ik had deze gedachten toen ik dit prachtige en indrukwekkende futuristische kunstwerk voor het eerst zag in Wroclaw. Ik hou van kleuren, maar soms is een zwart-wit foto net iets passender. Het maakt deze foto iets futuristischer. Er zijn veel eilanden in Wrocław. Dit unieke beeldhouwwerk genaamd Nawa bevindt zich op het eiland Daliowa in het centrum van de mooie stad. De stad heeft meer bruggen dan Venetië of Giethoorn en dat is erg leuk, maar dit terzijde.Het meesterwerk is ontworpen door de wereldberoemde Poolse Oskar Zięta. De architect en ontwerper heeft verschillende internationale prijzen gewonnen en ook vele verschillende nominaties ontvangen. Zo staat een stoel die hij ontwierp in het Centre Pompidou in Parijs en de kunstenaar gebruikt zelf de zeer belangrijke en verbluffende FiDU-beeldhouwtechniek. Heel interessant is ook dat er bij het ontwerp gebruik wordt gemaakt van software waarbij de blokken worden gegenereerd op basis van de ingevoerde gecombineerde parameters. Hierdoor ontstaan bepaalde vormen die zelfs de maker van de afbeelding positief kunnen verrassen. Parameters zorgen ook voor automatische aanpassing van het object aan de omgeving. De beplanting eromheen zorgt voor een organisch geheel dat op natuurlijke wijze uit de nabijgelegen rivier oprijst, en toeristen zijn
vol van bewondering als ze er onder door lopen. Welkom in de toekomst van het heden.

I took my favorite avi build out for a spin for a few days. If this skin was EvoX I would still be using it. (I did have to change the ears though, the original ears were cauliflowers)
Anyway what better way to be nostalgic than to take a futuristic shot? Wait.. is that right?
Penultimate shot in my abstract architecture series, and this one is a shot of Plymouth's newest building.
The building isn't open yet, the grand opening was delayed due to the pandemic but I'm really excited to go and visit when it does open later in the year.
If you're local you can probably guess what I'm talking about.
