Another fishing boat docked for the night in the small village of Alma on the Bay of Funday. Now this name of “Fundy Fury”, I can understand as I have experienced some of the fierce winds of the Maritimes. We actually drove down just after a light hurricane breezed through the Atlantic Provinces. That is another bonus of being retired. We can change our plans to avoid the bad weather! Then we get to enjoy the peaceful side of Fundy; like this scene.
This is the same range light as shown in my last post but taken on a different day. It shows how the wind can whip up in a fury and change the landscape to a very different mood. It pushes ice up along the shore. In this case the waves were being pushed into a narrow opening in the ice and creating a huge spout of water crystals. If you got close enough to the "spray" , you would feel the tiny shards of ice falling on you. It's no wonder there are pieces of the range light structure missing every season.

The Sayaca Tanager is widely distributed across South America, ranging from eastern Brazil and Bolivia to northern Argentina. It prefers open woodlands, gardens, and urban spaces, adapting well to human presence. Its diet consists of fruits, seeds, and insects, and it often forages in small flocks. While Sayaca Tanagers usually have a calm demeanor, this photograph reveals an unusual display of anger towards another tanager.

Taken a few weeks back on a very stormy day at Seaham. The waves have been a lot bigger before but the sea was in very lively mood to say the least. The really bad weather was moving in at this point and I was pelted with hail soon after taking this shot. Always nice to get some bracing sea air however.
