We can’t believe that four fantastic weeks have flown by. It was very exciting to have all of our Willows family members join us for our visiting day. We are so glad that so many parents and grandparents shared in the fun.
While the temperature outside continued to rise, so did all the excitement. With the extremely hot weather, we changed our schedule to include more indoor activities. This helped both the campers and counselors stay as cool as possible. Of course, we added additional swim periods and encouraged lots of water breaks to help everyone
beat the heat.
On Tuesday we had a surprise visit from the Glee Club who performed two fabulous songs. The Willows really had fun singing a repeat after me song with them. Uncle Teek, from security, also joined us for a delicious lunch the same day.
This week’s theme was “Under the Sea.” The Tadpoles and Minnows painted and decorated “Goldfish Sun Catchers.” In Ceramics, the campers enjoyed painting their clay hands and feet. All your children’s projects will be sent home shortly.

On Monday, Color War broke out. The white team was Spiderman and the blue team was Superman. The rest of the week was filled with fun and friendly Color War competition. On Tuesday we had a wonderful show by “Puppets Pizzazz,” and the children thoroughly enjoyed this production. The Willows campers fun continued on Wednesday as we celebrated our theme, “Slumber Party” where the campers wore their pajamas to camp and enjoyed homemade delicious plain and chocolate chip pancakes. To conclude our celebration, Uncle Rob from Tennis visited the Tadpoles and Minnows and read aloud “If you give a Mouse a Cookie.” The children were mesmerized. The pillowcases will be saved
for the 8th week of camp for a special Camper Creation project.

We can’t believe that four wonderful weeks have flown by. It was very exciting to have all of our Willows family members join us for our visiting day. We hope you had as much fun as we did.
While the temperature outside continued to rise, so did the fun and excitement. All the children had plenty of water breaks and extra time swimming to keep cool. Even the threat of rain didn’t dampen our spirits. We had the opportunity to have an extra special snack of sandwich cookies decorated with icing and jimmies.
This week’s theme was “Finding Nemo,” and the Tadpoles and Minnows created CD fish door hangers in Camper Creations. At Ceramics, the campers enjoyed painting their clay hands and feet. All your children’s projects will be sent home shortly. On Wednesday, in preparation for Waterworld and to honor our weekly theme of “Finding Nemo,” many of our Tadpoles and Minnows attempted the giant water slide and loved it.
To end our wonderful week, The Willows campers joined the rest of camp at Waterworld. The children drove water boats and joined in other great water activities. A terrific time was had by all!
We are looking forward to the next four weeks with your children. As a reminder, please remember to label all items brought to camp and wear yellow as much as possible.

It is hard to believe that camp will be ending next week. We will guarantee that the fun will continue to the very end.
Our week began with the break of color war. The white team were the Minions and the blue team, the Monsters. The rest of the week was filled with fun friendly Color War competition. The children loved seeing which team would win each event. Most competitions at The Willows ended in a tie. One of our favorite activities included the sneaker relay race. Other fun activities were a water balloon toss and the alphabet letter search in the pool. All the children had a great time.
Our theme this week was “Feeling Groovy.” In Camper Creations, the children had fun choosing which colors to tie-dye their t-shirts. Please remember to follow the directions attached to their tie-dye shirts. In Ceramics, the children enjoyed painting and decorating their ceramic bathing suits.

At this time in the camp season each child has found his/her favorite activities, which include Basketball, Soccer, Nature, Boating/Fishing, Tennis, Mini-Golf, Dance, etc.. Another favorite activity is when the Willows ride the Big Wheels. Everyone really loves racing their cars around the track. Of course, all The Willows love swimming and riding “Magic,” the pony.
Last week ended on a tasty note with our campers making Tie Dye bread in Cooking. After the bread was dyed, it was turned into grilled cheese or toast. Everyone found it yummy!
On Tuesday the Tadpoles and Minnows went to Woodcraft where they painted bird houses. They really enjoyed choosing their favorite colors. The Willows really love participating in big kid activities.
Our theme this week was “Up, Up and Away.” In Camper Creations, the children had fun making and decorating refrigerator kite magnets. They can’t wait to display them at home! In Ceramics, the children enjoyed adorning their ceramic bathing suits. These projects will be painted and sent home before the end of camp. We hope you enjoyed your child’s
ceramic hands/foot prints and ceramic faces.
While Carnival was postponed on Thursday the day was full of terrific rainy day activities. Our theme was “Harry the Dirty Dog” and we made a special snack, read the book, watched the movie and made our furry friends.
This fun filled week ended as the campers were thrilled to participate in the annual Carnival on Friday. It was a huge success and everyone had a terrific time. The campers played games, went on rides, ate lots of goodies and won prizes at various booths. Also on Friday was “Puttin’ on the Hits” where The Willows danced to the “Banana” song from “Despicable Me.”
