The church is associated with King Richard III who was born at nearby Fotheringhay Castle. Mary Queen of Scots was later imprisoned at Fotheringhay. The village is now small but has a very wide main street, at one time it was an extremely important place on a national level. The river runs between this vantage point and the church, you can't see it in the photo but you can see the sign for the bridge over the river to the right of the shot.

A pub at Spalding which I've not tried. I took this photo while we waited for the water taxi, which is a super trip.

The camera shutter is failing, before Brexit I could have got this fixed easily enough by posting it to someone competent in Europe, but no longer.

I've taken a photo of this before in b+w but it is so super I took another in colour when I was this way again.

This was taken before a large hole appeared in the middle of the shutter, there are only little shutter holes on display here...

The bridge over the lake at Highfields Park, Nottingham, in autumn. Normally I would not bother taking photos with light like this but colours and reflections were good and I had travelled in to work in the Covid-days which was a nice change.

The post box and phone booth outside the library in Stamford. The library used to be a covered open-air fish-market, which is why the pillar on the right is so solid. Nice little splash of blue sky in frame too.

I guess this must be bridge 57. Photo from the Nene Valley Railway. I saw this as a b+w photo but I had colour film loaded so that's what we get. Works well enough with the red wagons in the background I think.

Holes in the shutter are visible across the top of the image but that's not really an issue for me at least.

I guess this row is part of the "model agricultural village" project the Dukes of Bedford ran when the fens around here were drained. An attractive row of terraced cottages and a nice wide tree-lined street with a nice wide pavement (sidewalk).

Terry has kindly informed me that this is Wolseley 15/60 from the early 1960s. From wikipedia we can learn that this car had a 1.5 litre petrol engine, a top speed of 76.6 mph (which is plenty for me) and a 0-60 of 25.6 seconds! Dangerously underpowered to my mind. My current family car does that in 8 seconds, admittedly it is electric.

An old car in Thorney (with the water tower peeking through between the houses, not deliberate but I quite like this bit). It turns out that there is a classic car dealership in the town, I guess this car was being taken for a run out.

I tend to use the Cosmic Symbol as my cycling camera (and sometime as my walking camera) because it's quite light (and plastic) and if anything happens to it, it should be easy to replace for not much money at all.
