Update 8/19/15: These fuchsia flowers always bring to mind happy little ballerinas. I didn't do much with this image after I initially posted it more than 4 years ago, but I have now tweaked it a bit with Topaz am going to add it to some groups; because these dancing flowers always make me smile and I hope they will give you a smile, too.
In Ireland, roads are lined with hedges of fuchsia. These I shot on the beautiful peninsula of Sheep's Head.
Fuchsia is a beautiful flower like a earing of noble lady. It makes a lot of flowers bloom in this season. This is taken in my flower bed.

One from a walk in Cromer, from the beach to the cliff top. There are some lovely gardens. I loved the colour of the fuchsia against red brick wall.
Sadly, these are gone being that I took this in mid-May but have always found these little blooms to be so unique and colorful.
The fuchsias are most closely related to the northern hemisphere genus Circaea. Fuchsia is a genus of flowering plants that consists mostly of shrubs or small trees. Almost 110 species of Fuchsia are recognized; the vast majority are native to South America, but a few occur north through Central America to Mexico, and also several from New Zealand to Tahiti. Fuchsia leaves are opposite or in whorls of three to five, simple lanceolate, and usually have serrated margins (entire in some species), 1–25 cm long, and can be either deciduous or evergreen, depending on the species. The flowers are very decorative; they have a pendulous teardrop shape and are displayed in profusion throughout the summer and autumn, and all year in tropical species. They have four long, slender sepals and four shorter, broader petals; in many species, the sepals are bright red and the petals purple (colours that attract the hummingbirds that pollinate them), but the colours can vary from white to dark red, purple-blue, and orange. The pyracantha berries provide a fiery backdrop for the hardy fuchsia in the garden.

Fuchsia is a genus of flowering plants that consists mostly of shrubs or small trees. The first, Fuchsia triphylla, was discovered on the Caribbean island of Hispaniola (present day Dominican Republic and Haiti) in 1703 by the French Minim monk and botanist, Charles Plumier. He named the new genus after the renowned German botanist Leonhart Fuchs (1501–1566)
For those interested, the anatomy is as follows:
1:at the top the green 'stem is the PEDICLE
2:the thicker bit of green is the OVARY
3:then you have the (red here) TEPALS
4:the mauve petals are the COROLLA
5:there are 8 aATAMEN/FILAMENTS/ANTHERS
6: And finally: the STYLE or PISTIL, with at the end:
7:the STIGMA: the sticky tip of a flower pistil, on which pollen is deposited at the beginning of pollination.
