One of the many streets in Funchal, Madeira where the front doors of properties have paintings on them

"Listen! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice, I will come in to him and have dinner with him, and he with Me." Revelation 3:20, The words of Jesus Christ.

A beautiful Sunday to those who share my faith, and to those who do not!

Here's a quick view of Northern Lights seen from our apartments front door. I took this photo when I left for snowshoe trip to film a time lapse.

I will post pictures from the time lapse later when I process it.

On Wednesday night December 16–17, 2020, a Nor'easter hit Northeast United States and in some locations produced between 2 and 4 feet of snow (but my area only got an inch followed by 1/2 inch of ice). While this is no big deal to Mid-Westerners, in the East it resulted in 200 car crashes and 20,000 power outages in Virginia alone; in New York it led to over 600 crashes and sadly, two fatalities. The real problem was a layer of sleet added on top of the snow followed by freezing temperatures, never a good combination…

The convenience of front door photography…didn’t even get my feet wet. Manual settings, tripod, no filters and Capture One for post-processing; backlighting provided courtesy of neighbors’ Christmas displays.

When you live in a city you tend to miss out on sunsets and sunrises, there are always buildings in the way . Our house faces West so the sun sets behind the houses on the other side of the road. However about a week ago there was clearly a wonderful sunset and while the sun was out of our sight the sky did turn a wonderful colour . This was taken from our front door looking over the rooftops

THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT TO MY STREAM.

I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL IF YOU COULD NOT FAVE A PHOTO

Greenmount Homestead (5 Km west of Walkerston), Qld, Australia is one of Mackay's most valued historic attractions.

The famous front door of Greenmount Homestead is surrounded by stunning stained glass lead lights. Fun fact about stained glass: red is one of the rarest and most expensive colours to make? Why? Colour is added to glass by mixing metal oxides or powders into the glass when it's still molten. Cobalt for blue, cadmium for yellow, tin for white, and for red - gold dust.

Built in 1915 by Albert Cook, the former cattle property forms part of the original claim taken up by Captain John Mackay in 1862. Following the death of Albert’s son Tom, the homestead was gifted to the city in 1983 and has operated as a heritage site ever since.

The grounds contain a number of buildings, including a Queenslander style homestead, staff quarters, garage and blacksmith’s workshop, which together house a collection of more than 20,000 artefacts.

Looking out my front door this morning (October 26). Five photo stitch. Sitting under the tree far left is an Eastern Cottontail Rabbit that probably can't be seen except when this image is original size. I took a photo of the rabbit which has been sitting in the same place every morning for at least a month.

Over on the Isle of Lewis, this is the sunrise view from the front door of my little house. this particular sunrise was strong enough to wake me up wondering "why is the world red today"!!

Big Golden Elm branch cracked under the weight of all the rain we've had. Fortunately it didn't do any damage and waited like this all night! We had it professionally cut.

my front door has a film over it to allow people to view out but not in. it was installed very sloppily so it makes for interesting photo shots but not much else.

The front door of the Episcopal Church is very welcoming. Also, another archway.

I did have plans to wander a bit further along the coast today (Within COVID Guidelines of course!) but a series of events including demanding customers, a hard drive failure and a few other bits got in the way so I'm afraid it's another from the front door.

Another one from my stay in Hatfield, Pretoria. Loved the vintage table and chairs…and the door. :-)

We brought this home from the garden centre ready-planted when Ray was unable to create the usual hanging basket. He is very happy now his hand is recovered enough to do his own gardening!
