Some folks in Buffalo know him as the “Godfather of Buffalo Brewing,” but to me, Tim was the neighbor across the street who always had time, heart, and humor to share. For 16 years, I had the happy accident of living across from him, his amazing wife, and their family. He ran Flying Bison Brewery during those years and has since retired his beer-stache—but not his gift of wisdom. Like a good bartender, he always knew what to say, and his advice never missed. The Messenger of Allaah s.a.w said: “When Allaah wills good for His slave, He sweetens him.” He was asked, “What is this sweetening?” He said, “Allaah guides him to do righteous deeds before he dies, then He takes (his soul) whilst he is in that state.” [Sahih, 1114]
And when i leave this dunya, i hope, i wish, i pray, that people will only see and speak of good things about me. I have tried my best in this dunya, and i ask of you to pray for me. As one of the best dua, is that of dua for his brother in islam. “The supplication of a brother for his brother in their absence is not rejected by Allah.” [Muslim, 6588]
So here i am, i ask of you, please pray for me. And may the same be for you. “There is no believeing servant who supplicates for his brother in his absence where the angels do not say; “The same be for you.””
