Visited some friends today and could not resist bringing along my camera to take some pictures. They had these gorgeous pink camellias blooming that are a different variety from the ones I have in my garden. So delicate and petite. They are probably half the size of the variety I have (see prior images). The light was magical.

In every 12 years interval a grand festival, called Naropa, takes place at ancient Hemis monastery.
In Naropa 2016, apart from normal visitors, as many as 5 million Buddhist people of Drukpa order gathered from all over the world to make it one of the largest Buddhist festival in the world.
People, dressed in traditional costume and adorn in typical Ladakhi stone and bone ornaments, participated in this week long festival.
I took the photograph of two friends there.

Friends & Family: Nearly 20 years old at the time, Rio Grande SD40T-2s No. 5400 and 5405 rest between assignments in their old stomping grounds at Helper, Utah the afternoon of Feb. 28, 1999. The late 1990s were a great time to watch and photograph Rio Grande “tunnel motors” here in their native habitat. On most occasions, a visitor could find at least 12 on site in the yard, running on a local, or working a manned helper to Soldier Summit.

My little friends have been rather disappointed for a few days, as I'd run out of treats. Every night they'd turn up without fail and have a little sniff around just in case I'd managed to get to the shops since their last visit. Well their luck was in last night and I made sure they had a bit extra.
