When we went for a walk on Saturday, Bahbahra also took the opportunity to enjoy the sun, couldnt find a lounger for her but she seemed quite happy here, didnt have the heart to tell her that no matter how long she spends in the sun she wont get any color

Little Brian hadn't expected the new brand of toilet cleaner to be quite so powerful.
For Macro Mondays theme 'Bubbles'. This 'toilet' is a small refrigerator magnet, compete with working seat and lid. I found it in my local charity shop a few weeks ago and wondered who would ever want such a thing unless the intention was to do some silly snail photo. The bubbles were formed from dish washing liquid and were surprisingly stable. Knowing how I wanted the snail to perform, I sculpted the bubbles so that there was no danger of the snail coming into contact with them. The image was cropped to be within the MM size limit.
No snails were harmed in the making of this photograph.
the macro mondays group theme for today is "hook".
got a couple+ of contenders. this one is probably my favorite (although the barrel bolt is probably a better macro.)
it's a fridge magnet so you can hang up things :)
as you can see it is just over 2 and 1/2 inches tall.
"macro mondays" hook possibility
Not being at home, I don't have any props with me, but luckily the fridge magnets are all heart shaped in the kitchen/dining room, which is also our activity room.
This is the one I like best.
Will be going home this Friday, just hope we get one more day of good weather, so I can get some photos around town.
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :)
Due to restrictions on my movement, caused by my injured arm, I was unable to satisfactorily take the majority of shots intended for this theme today. I have had to fall back on a very simple and much easier shot of this fridge magnet, brought back from our recent trip to Malta.
It is very common for small bottles of sand to be sold as tourist momentos of holiday spots and over the years we have bought quite a few. The majority are given away but this one was retained due to it being a magnet and appears here due to its small size!
For Macro Mondays group - theme of ‘In a Bottle’.
giving and receiving hugs :))
admittedly not so easy these days of Covid-19 safety precautions (and that horrid heat wave) ... but this fridge magnet my sister gave me a while ago makes me smile every time I look at it ;))
That's almost as good as a hug, don't you think ?! xo
Crazy Tuesday - theme of August 11, 2020: "Happiness is ..."
HaPpY CrAzY Tuesday, everyone !!

... Glück ist ...
Umarmungen

I'd be careful playing with the dice. No matter how much I roll it, it seems always to come up on the number two!
The theme for Smile on Saturday for the 23rd of May is "magnet", and unlike a lot of people, I don't have many magnets on my refrigerator, and those I do tend to be from trades and service providers I use.
This magnet is the one exception to the rule. Funnily enough I don't actually like it. it is showy and represents gambling of which I am not a fan, but my friend who bought it in Las Vagas for me said that she couldn't resist it's showy vulgarity and bought different coloured ones to be give to me and other friends. At least she got the colour right, as blue is my favourite colour!
For the Macro Mondays challenge "Fake". The pumpkin might be fake but the recipe for pumpkin pie is authentic. It's from the ancient Betty Crocker cook book I brought with me to Germany as a young bride.

I get myself a fridge magnet as a memento of the places I've visited. Toronto is my favorite big Canadian City and I spent a lot of time there in the past.
The old-fashioned one is a fridge magnet in the traditional Swedish style. Behind there is a modern electric coffee mill.

Tiffany stained glass .... not originals, sadly, but domed glass fridge magnets! ;o)
For the Smile on Saturday challenge: "Magnets"
They are just too beautiful to stick on the fridge! So I have brought them out of their boxes, and I found that by sticking two together, using their magnetic sides, I can make them into balls. An easier shape to photograph than domes ... so a special thanks to the challengers this week!
HSoS!! ;o)

“Quit while you’re ahead. All the best gamblers do.” – Baltasar Gracián y Morales (Spanish Jesuit priest and Baroque prose writer and philosopher).
The theme for for "Smile on Saturday" for Saturday 31st of May is "dice in B&W", where we are required to take a black and white photo of a dice on its own, with no other game pieces or objects. Unlike a lot of people, I don't have many magnets on my refrigerator, and those I do tend to be from trades and service providers I use. This magnet in the shape of a dice is the one exception to the rule. Funnily enough I don't actually like it. It is showy and represents gambling of which I am not a fan, but my friend Judy, who sadly died from Alzheimer’s a few years ago, says she bought it in Las Vagas especially for me. She said that she couldn't resist its showy vulgarity and bought different coloured ones to be given to me and to other friends. You may have seen this dice in my photostream before, used for other themes, and you may recognise it as being blue in reality. I keep it as a memory of Judy. It seemed perfect for this week’s theme, as no-one said the dice couldn’t be a magnet as well! I hope you like my choice for this week’s theme, and that it makes you smile!
I'd be careful playing with this particular dice if I were you. No matter how much I roll it, it seems always to come up on the number two!
The theme for "Looking Close on Friday" for the 3rd of January is "magnets" Unlike a lot of people, I don't have many magnets on my refrigerator, and those I do tend to be from trades and service providers I use. A fake Ladybird beetle sitting on a real leaf. There are two ways to tell this Ladybird is fake. 1. It looks nothing like a real Ladybird and 2. As hard as I've tried I've not been able to make a normal Ladybird stay on a fridge door holding vital shopping lists simply because they don't contain magnets :-)
As fake as fake can be
what you see can not
possibly be!

Whenever we travel, we get a fridge magnet. However, since they don't stick to our new refrigerator, I have a magnetic bulletin board I put them on. Area photographed is 3 in wide x 2.25 in tall.

I have fridge magnets of all the places Stu and I visited over the years. We were visiting friends in Pt. Townsend, WA back in September of 2003. We took a day trip over to Victoria to see the sights. When we got to the Customs Office in Victoria the Custom's Officer looked at my passport and said with a big smile "Welcome Home!" I did feel welcome, it felt wonderful to be greeted that way! The photo below is the same building on this magnet.
Christmas itself, filled with happiness and celebrations. This is a fridge magnet about 4.5 - 5 cm tall. For Macro Monday Group
You can't have a theme name like this without an explanation as to why you have chosen your "treasured" item, can you?
Well, here goes.......!
Whenever I visited my mum it would invariably involve the sharing of a cuppa and a biscuit - so I'd dive to the fridge and would always admire this sweet butterfly magnet on the fridge door as I grabbed the milk. She's now 94 and in residential care but her fridge magnet is still treasured every time I now open my fridge door where it now rests its wings.
Many thanks for all views, fav's - and particularly comments - all are greatly appreciated!
Happy Macro Mondays to you all!
Happy new year and all the best for 2009
As do I of course, 2008 has been a great year sharing photos and comments with you all

This is part of a fridge magnet. I bought it in Albuquerque, NM at Walgreens that was on the corner of San Mateo Blvd. & Route 66, or Central Avenue as the locals call it.

Colours are primordial ideas, the children of light.

Context for the LCoF picture
Isn’t he cute? He’s a refrigerator magnet. A while back I realized that I didn’t have to buy cute or interesting things when a picture could suffice. But sometimes I did succumb to the thrill of owning and this one made the cut.
He’s only about two and a half inches tall.
This tiny vase is actually a fridge magnet!!. Gotta measure this, though, to be sure it’s within the size parameters
(…later…Yay, it fits!!)
This needs a context shot with other vases

This fridge magnet is a momento of a trip to Uganda. I liked the magnet, despite the fact that the ladies head had been broken off at some point. As it was the only one, I bought it.
I placed it on a small batik print of some African ladies, to bring her back to life.
