A very brief encounter with the Queen of the Damned as she apparated in this previously unpublished image from June 2017. I hope that this Friday 13th is being kind to you all and I wish you all a fantastic weekend of photography ahead. Stay safe and keep the shutters firing!

Made a delivery last night in Los Angeles and noticed my reflection in the passenger window of the truck docked next to me. The other face is another driver, one more truck over. Anyway, just something for fun, using my Note4's camera. Happy Friday the 13th. Boo!!!

It’s not a good feeling. You know what I mean. That creepy feeling that someone is watching your every move. You can’t see anyone, but you know you’re not alone. And it’s Friday the 13th….of October!

>>>>> Check out my Friday the 13th Gallery!!

So today's picture is not quite so sunny and cheery as yesterday's. It is Friday the 13th and so I thought I would share something appropriate for the day.

I took this at an abandoned hospital in Gary, Indiana while on a photoshoot with my friend Chris Nitz. (The premises were entered legally with permission from the city.) This was one scary place as you can probably tell from the picture. The windows were filled with bullet holes, the walls and ceilings were torn apart, and at times you needed a flashlight just to see what was on the floor in front of you. This room in particular was super dark, since it had no windows and no access to any ambient light.

I was fascinated by the scene in this room. Not only was the wall torn apart and the wallpaper peeling, but the floor was littered with interesting debris that seemed to tell a story, in particular the fire hose that was partially unwound. We will probably never know what happened here!

TECHNICAL EDIT: Many people have asked me about this so I thought I would share. The light and color are not something that I did in post-processing. The room was completely dark, so I added in my own stationary light source into a hole in the wall and that is what created the effect. I didn't move it around or do any light painting. It is a 3-image HDR composite which helps give it a nice depth, and then I darkened it up a bit in Photoshop.

From childhood's hour I have not been

As others were; I have not seen

As others saw; I could not bring

My passions from a common spring.

From the same source I have not taken

My sorrow; I could not awaken

My heart to joy at the same tone;

And all I loved, I loved alone.

Then- in my childhood, in the dawn

Of a most stormy life- was drawn

From every depth of good and ill

The mystery which binds me still:

From the torrent, or the fountain,

From the red cliff of the mountain,

From the sun that round me rolled

In its autumn tint of gold,

From the lightning in the sky

As it passed me flying by,

From the thunder and the storm,

And the cloud that took the form

(When the rest of Heaven was blue)

Of a demon in my view.

Friday the 13th

There's a woodshop out back, in the deep forest where I like to think and reflect upon things while dismembering my victims... sometimes I'm just exhausted from it all.

I don't even have the motivation to chase down and slash & hack misbehaving camp counselors like I used to.

Maybe it's due to the attendee numbers being low the last 18 months... but it's surprising how many fed up parents will still ship their kids to this dump.

Crystal Lake really isn't what it used to be.

Happy Fence Friday!

7DWF: Fridays: Flora

Taken in June just around my corner, I've saved it for today's Friday the 13th ;-)

As for the "very superstitious" soundtrack, I couldn't decide between Stevie Wonder and The Who, so "better take my advice (a black cat crossed your path twice)", and choose for yourself, if you like:

Stevie Wonder, "Superstition": www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfpVd3BpQrc

The Who: "Run, Run, Run": www.youtube.com/watch?v=Drm48bOirLw

I made it darker and enhanced the contrast to make it "moodier", more apt for "Shocktober" ;-) Also, unfortunately, I couldn't get more of the fence into the frame, because I had my 60 mm macro (=120 mm) mounted, and there were cars parked in front of the house (I couldn't step back any further, or the cars would have been in the frame, too).

HFF, Everyone, and I wish you a wonderful weekend ahead, dear Flickr friends!

#Socket

Choice... Once again, I couldn't decide between three different final candidates. Ultimately, I picked this (and I have no idea what was once meant to be plugged into this old mainboard socket). Next to it, there's the HDMI graphic card socket of which I had photographed the pins but thought the latter was a little too abstract. The third candidate was the pins of my old E-M5's extra grip that assure the shutter button on the grip is fully functional. That turned out nicely, so I will upload it, maybe tonight or Wednesday, but for that specific subject it was debatable whether the part on the grip is the socket or the corresponding part on the camera.

This nicely purple-coloured socket (above it, there also is a green one) immediately reminded me of a skull of sorts. And the movie character Jason Voorhees of the Friday the 13th horror franchise also came to mind, although I have never seen a single movie of that series. I assume it's because of the holes reminiscent of Jason's mask. I realise I cut myself off a possible subject for a future Halloween photo, but so what. Here it is ;)

The image is an in-camera processed focus stacking (15 photos). I did pre-de-dusting with a brush and post-de-dusting in Photoshop and used the primary colour sliders in LR to bring out the colours.

Ok. Now we present Sharky's Night:

m.youtube.com/watch?v=0u2yA2Wrtvg#

"Sun's going down like a big bald head

Disappearing behind the boulevard

(Oooee.) It's Sharkey's night, yeah, it's Sharkey's night tonight

And the manager says, "Sharkey?

He's not at his desk right now. (oh yeah.) Could I take a message?"

And Sharkey says, "Hey, kemosabe! Long time no see"

He says, "Hey sport. You connect the dots. You pick up the pieces"

Hey says, "You know, I can see two tiny pictures of myself and there's one in each of your eyes. And they're doin' everything I do

Every time I light a cigarette, they light up theirs

I take a drink and I look in and they're drinkin' too

It's drivin' me crazy. It's drivin' me nuts."

And Sharkey says, "Deep in the heart of darkest America, home of the brave."

He says: "Listen to my heart beat."

Paging Mr. Sharkey, white courtesy telephone please"

If you are reading this you have survived May's Friday the 13th!

Pretty sure rewards will be arriving on Monday -lol. #MakeItEasy #ImNotReady #FullMoon

Taken at Sunny's

Photobooth: Dakini nights- the bear

Months that begin on a Sunday have a "Friday the 13th". I couldn't find any creepy or scary photos, but for a vole this Great Gray Owl getting ready to launch could be a very unlucky day...and on this particular day, it resulted in very bad luck for the vole (you likely don't want to see that photo).

It's the Friday the 13th Harvest full moon. This was taken within minutes of the full moon happening here in western Canada at 10:32 pm MST. I was in my PJ's on my front step shooting handheld. Given my recent history, I am delighted. Converted to B&W with some levels adjusted in Photoshop Elements.

Sorry, I'm not a believer in superstitions, but I do love taking a peek into the dark, creepy side of things :) and then run away as fast as I can!

Happy Friday the 13th!

"Very superstitious, writings on the wall,

Very superstitious, ladders bout' to fall,

Thirteen month old baby, broke the lookin' glass

Seven years of bad luck, the good things in your past

When you believe in things that you don't understand,

Then you suffer,

Superstition ain't the way"

"Superstition" lyrics by Stevie Wonder

Many thanks to everyone for your visit, comments and faves! Much appreciated! 😊

Have a nice Friday!

Happy Valentines Day Everyone! If You have a special someone hold on tight.

If you don't make at least one persons day for Valentines even if it's just a friend.

For the gift of Love has lots of meanings.

And don't mean you have to be "In Love"

To Just spread the Love and It will come back to you 10 times fold

when you least expect it. But never do something nice for

someone expecting something good to happen. The best things

in life are selfless acts. The ones that you don't want anything

back but to see someone happy. I also believe Karma is the

best thing ever in the world. It will come back on you when

you think you're free of something you have done.

Live right, Do right, And in the end it will all turn out right.

All it takes is just a little patience. But it will find you it always does.

Today is Friday the 13th call me weird but I love Friday the 13th.

I don't believe in bad luck. Just things that happen that are bad.

Luck is just a word that is short lived even if you hit a

"lucky" streak. You will find it's just the road in life

you're taking. Each one has a different ending. But none are written

in stone. You are in charge of how you live just like you're in

charge of how you treat people. Nobody "makes"

you do mean things you chose to do them. HAVE A GREAT DAY Xoxo

Happy Fence Friday!

Just some fresh, opening spring bud peek-a-booing through a fence. Testing the close-up / macro abilities of the little "always-in-my-pocket" Lumix LX100. Macro with this camera "happens" at the wide end of the lens, so there will be some typical wide angle distortions, but it still works rather well with quite pleasing results.

Happy Flora, HFF (the 13th!), and a wonderful weekend to you, dear Flickr friends!

I happen to love the number 13 and Friday the 13th is usually a lucky day for me when it happens..we'll see. I'll let you know tomorrow. Wikipedia says this about Friday the 13th.

by far one of my favorite Friday the 13th part 7

Taken for duplicate themes, 7DWF "Flora" and The Flickr Lounge "Backlighting"

The changing leaves in the background created a mosaic of gold, red and green with Mr. Sun peeking through. Have an awesome day friends and I hope Friday the 13th is kind to you all.

Yes, this little car looks much like Ken's older car, but it's not! :) We traded that one in today! One of our requirements was that a newer one "match" our other vehicles! Needless to say, he is PRETTY darned happy this Friday the 13th!!

Yorkshire Air Museum's Halifax looking very atmospheric at last year's Timeline Events' nightshoot. An airframe I've wanted to photograph for a while, and the smoke machine certainly did not disappoint.

'Friday the 13th' - a little bit difficult to photograph, but definitely another one to tick off the bucket list, courtesy of Timeline Events earlier this year.

I took this a few minutes before 7am, just after pulling in to the parking lot at work.

Next time this comes around will be 2049...".What can we gain by sailing to the moon if we are not able to cross the abyss that separates us from ourselves? This is the most important of all voyages of discovery, and without it, all the rest are not only useless, but disastrous."
