Irish Rail 071 class engine 085 in charge of the morning IWT service from Dublin Port (circa 0930 hrs ) to Ballina, a short stop at Athlone ( above ) for a driver change.

The backbone of this liner is tanker concentrate from the Coca Cola production facility in Ballina.

General Motors class 071, 084 at the helm of the 10.05 hrs Ballina to Dublin Port IWT freight arriving into the North Wall.

Today, along with the various containers is General Motors class 201, 228 which had failed & was being returned to the Irish Rail works at Inchicore for repair.

A nice treat to get a double header.

A vivid pink cargo ship, "ONE HARBOUR," adds a bold and colorful touch to Hamburg’s bustling port. Contrasting against the industrial backdrop of stacked shipping containers and cranes, this eye-catching vessel stands out as a symbol of modern maritime transport. With seagulls in flight and deep blue waters below, this scene captures the dynamic energy of international shipping and trade.

Its not everyday you can walk around a Jumbo, but when it comes to the Farnborough air show, you can walk around, under & even into the CargoLogicAir Boeing 747, recently delivered to them, seen at the show in 2016.

This is G-CLAB, a Boeing 747 freighter with one serious BIG MOUTH.

For the day thats in it, CLdn Line aptly named " Valentine " .

Seen here leaving Dublin, its usually operating the recently introduced triangular Dublin/ Porto/ Santander service, which provides direct sailings between Ireland, Spain & Portugal.

Valentine was built in 1999 & her sister ship Victorine is also a regular into Dublin.

Seen above, two ships passing, Valentine on the left with Mega Express 4, at the time on charter to Irish Ferries arriving from Holyhead.

Valentine's day

You have mail, by the train load

The British Rail class 325, built by ABB at Derby Litchurch Lane Works, solely to carry for Royal Mail, a total of 16 sets were built.

Passing through Crewe, headed by 325016 with 325007 at the rear, each set is made up of 4 unconnected unmanned carriages DTVA-PMV-TAV-DTVB, each with 4 roller shutters.

I love the large round oleo buffers, reminds me of the old CIE AEC Park Royals.

Plenty of action down at terminal one at Dublin Port.

In the background, the Seatruck compound at terminal five with both Clipper Point & Seatruck Power in port, while local route 53 by Dublin Bus operated by Clontarf Garage awaits its next departure from the Irish Ferries terminal close by, Wrightbus SG 206.

Valentine's day

Mercedes-Benz Actros

These sunbathing containers are soaking up the rays, stacked high and ready for their next cargo adventure . They could end up anywhere in the world—Shanghai, Sydney, or São Paulo—just by being next in line for the journey. Each one’s got a story to tell, from rusty edges to faded labels, whispering tales of distant ports. And then, there’s the green one, standing out in the crowd, shouting, ‘I am special!’ Who knows where they’ll go next?
