Mumbai bomb blast Mahim Station 11 th July 2006
Freedom of expression is fine
You don’t draw caricature s
Of the Holy Prophet and
Disrespect the Divine
Or Cartoons
on the sands of Karbala
in blood by shimr and yazid
was way out of line
a single Hussain
they could not outshine
Freedom of expression is fine
If I respect yours
and you respect mine
I don’t call you a pig
You don’t call me a swine
Man is mortal
Humanity
the most holiest Shrine
Freedom of expression is fine
But not bombs on human souls
No part of any godly design
Man to man
Through religious venom
Don’t malign
And lets live in peace
terror decline
helping each other
our human credentials define
a new hope for
our unborn children assign
freedom of expression is fine
if love and peace together combine
what is yours is also mine
a single world
good thoughts
good actions entwine
poem no 505
"Thousands of anti-government protesters marched in Malaysia’s capital on Saturday demanding the resignation of the prime minister, Najib Razak, over his alleged involvement in a multibillion-dollar misappropriation scandal.
Clad in yellow shirts and unfazed by arrests of activists and opposition leaders just hours before the rally, protesters marched from various spots towards the heart of Kuala Lumpur amid tight security."

Words are supposed to hurt. That's considered a legitimate way of fighting things out. And what did it replace in the historical scene? It replaced actual violence.
Words are supposed to be free so we CAN actually fight things out, in the battleplace of ideas, so we don't end up fighting them out in civil wars. If we try to legitimately ban anything that can hurt someone's feelings, everyone is reduced to silence.

1,000+ people protested against the Government's controversial proposed Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill at Devonshire Green in Sheffield.
The proposed Bill includes proposals that would give police and the Home Secretary increased powers to stop protests on grounds of “serious annoyance or inconvenience” which if you’re a government minister could mean all of them.
It’s a serious erosion of civil liberties and democratic rights.

Friday 3 May 2013: World Press Freedom Day (WPFD) celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2013. It was officially proclaimed during the United Nations General Assembly in 1993. Ever since then, UNESCO as the UN agency with the mandate to promote freedom of expression (including freedom of the press) has been promoting these fundamental rights in every region of the world. The British High Commission marked the day with a reception for journalists and bloggers.
