HIJUDAI, Japan (Feb. 19, 2023) – TENTATIVE – U.S. Navy corpsmen with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, and soldiers with the 1st Amphibious Rapid Deployment Regiment, Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, carry a simulated casualty on a stretcher during a mass casualty exercise at Hijudai, Japan on Feb. 19, 2023. The training simulated a mass casualty event granting the bi-lateral medical team an opportunity to actively practice medical care in the field with closely simulated pressure and conditions during Iron Fist 23. PACIFIC OCEAN (June 10, 2023) - U.S. Marines with Battalion Landing Team (BLT) 2/1, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, board a MV-22B Osprey during a tactical recovery of aircraft and personnel exercise aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA-6), in the Pacific Ocean, June 10, 2023. This TRAP exercise was conducted to increase the Marines’ proficiency in future operations, by practicing the rescue and recovery of injured personnel in a downed aircraft.
