Le château de Salvert tient son nom de son dernier propriétaire, le Marquis de Salvert de Bellenave décédé en 1908. Le donjon fut rasé sous la révolution et le château lui-même en partie démoli. Il fut réaménagé au cours du XlXème siècle.
