Since Pages Books closed, I had been making a point to walk by there to see what business is moving in there. .Yesterday, I fond it was a clothing store. They been cleaning up the stuff left behind by Pages, outside there was a small box of books for the garbage. I looked through it and couldn’t believe my eyes, there was a perfectly good copy of “Midnight at the Dragon Café” by Judy Fong Bate!

I had never meet Judy Fong Bates but few years ago, when my show “Chinatown Gardens” was exhibited in Toronto which was reviewed in the Globe and Mail and got on the Chinese Sung Tao Daily and on TV. One of the collector brought my paintings was Judy Fong Bates. .Afterward, I took out her books from the public library and really enjoyed them. Especially, the Midnight of the Dragon Café but I could find a copy for my library until yesterday!

This book was there in the box waiting for me to walk by and pick it up.
