I'm seeing a theme here. Older buildings near the Historic Garrison District of Fredericton, New Brunswick. Double doors, and shades of red. While this set of doors is similar to a set of doors I previously posted from St. John, These are far less ornate.

Beautiful sunset in Fredericton. The river was completely placid which provided incredible reflections :)
We had based ourselves in Moncton so that we could enjoy a full day in Fredericton without straying too far from Halifax, where were we catching an afternoon flight out. After a thorough exploration of the amazing Beaverbrook Art Gallery, we headed outdoors to see what the St. John River area would offer up. After seeing the downtown, we took a stroll through the Fredericton Botanic Garden on the way back to Moncton. It was a little early for flowers here, but still got to see some nice blossoms.
This osprey needs to look big. She is on guard against a family of bald eagles that repeatedly attack her nest looking to kill her two chicks. So far she and her partner have been successful at thwarting the eagles but sadly the eagles will probably get at least one of the fledglings before they are fully grown.
If you look on my stream you can see a video I posted of the osprey feeding her chicks.

These Canada Geese are wondering about the unfamaliar visitor. Who is this guy? Well it turns out that he is a pink footed goose. A common enough sight in Greeenland and Iceland but very rare for North America. These guys usually winter in the UK and Denmark but this fellow decided to fly west and hang out with a flock of Canada geese in New Brunswick. He created quite a stir among local birders here in the Maritimes.
