Some weird looking clouds drifted over Mount Gambier a couple of weeks ago. I haven't seen anything quite like this in Mount Gambier before - it was quite eerie looking. They didn't give any rain. As we were just out shopping at the local supermarket, I only had the phone camera at the time, but it seemed to capture the odd look of these clouds well enough.
Happy Nice Wonderful Clouds Tuesday!
Smile on Saturday / Freaky Fruit
The beautyberry bush is very useful. It provides food for birds and other wildlife. In my yard, birds, raccoons, opossums, and squirrels will enjoy the berries from August until April as long as the supply holds out. I have several of these bushes/shrubs available for them. Once you have one beautyberry, you can expect more. They are easy to grow. New plants come up from the roots and birds plant some from the seeds. I transplant ones that grown in unauthorized locations and I often give some away.
People often crush the leaves and rub them on themselves as a natural defense against mosquitoes and other flying insects like horse flies. People also will harvest the beautyberries to make jellies and jams. Although, I’m not really sure why, I have tasted them and find them to be rather bland.
In my opinion these berries are best left to the birds and such. I did pick a few for the Smile on Saturday themed group. This weeks theme is Freaky Fruit. Although, they do not have much flavor they do look amazing in a salad, so the ones I picked will not go to waste. They will be consumed for dinner or placed at a feeding station for the critters.
I hope that you smile a lot today and every day, happy snapping.

I liked this reflection in the glass front of the building. Taken in early evening soft light in Severin in Romania.
I've been feelin' freaky deaky
You're on your way to see me
