Apparently someone used my p-card to try and purchase $3000 worth of bats from Beaver Bat company. Luckily they didn't have any of my other information, name, address so the transaction didn't go through. There's been so many breaches who can even know where they got the number from but in any case, I get a new card with a new number and have to destroy this one.
Thought cut up credit card would be a good stock photo for something.

it used to be that danish comedians could blatantly steal their material from "the outside world" and no one would ever notice, because no one paid attention to danish television or cinema, and, at the same time, most danes were clueless about what has was happening outside of denmark (which is still pretty much the case today, but the same thing could be said about many americans).
thanks to the net, cheaper travel, and a greater dominance of global television, the world has gotten smaller and people here are finally starting to discover that their homegrown talent, their so-called comic genuises, are nothing more than frauds, fakes, and imposters; as the sources from which they borrowed from are finally staking their rightful claim to the creative material that has been stolen from them.
the headline on the top says dirch's cultural canon was a copy. the story behind this is that famous comedian and cultural icon dirch passer, who has had segments of his comedy routines earmarked as part of denmark's cultural canon, is accused of finding his key material elsewhere while passing it off as his own. more importantly, this particular comedy routine has been cited as being essentially danish.
many people have known that television personality casper christensen "borrows" pretty much all of his material from other entertainers, amongst them larry david, david letterman, dennis miller, pee wee herman, and british comedians, chris evans, vic reeves, and bob mortimer; and above, the corresponding headline says tv series Clown is strongly "inspired" by american tv show.
casper christensen does not have one original bone in his body, and now, with the discovery of dirch passer's transgressions, it has become all too clear that this very popular comic legend has also turned the same trick, this time taking his material from an american comedian named art metrano.
good riddance. maybe this will inspire a search for true and original danish talent (of which there are many) and not the kind of second rate, too eager to please talent that feels that the only way that they can be good enough, is if they steal their material from someone else and claim it as their own.
grrrr....

NYC Residents Band Together to Prevent Eviction of Elderly Bed-Stuy Homeowner.
UPDATE: The Eviction Defense prevented Ms. Ward's scheduled eviction. She and her team have bought a few days to negotiate. Her future is still uncertain.
NEW YORK, NY – Ms. Mary Lee Ward, an 82 year-old African American grandmother who resides at
320 Tompkins Avenue, Bedford-Stuyvesant Brooklyn, is facing a foreclosure related eviction from her
home of 44 years.
The current owner, “768 Dean Inc,” holder of scores of other properties in the neighborhood, has hired
a marshal to remove her from the premises. A NYC based organization plans on being there
too.
The group, calling itself Organizing for Occupation or O4O, vowed to defend Ms. Ward and block
the eviction, even if it means engaging in non-violent civil disobedience in order to force the NYC
marshal to back down.
O4O is calling for folks to gather at 320 Tompkins Ave this Friday morning.
Ms. Ward—like so many in Bed-Stuy— is a victim of deceptive and predatory lending practices
perpetrated by banks and speculators. Her lender, Delta Funding, was shut down by the government
for preying upon elderly people of color in Queens and Brooklyn. The broker at Tarheel Funding lost
his license and was prosecuted for fraud.
But her loan lived on, bought and sold by different financial institutions over the course of ten years.
When the house was sold at auction in 2008, estate speculator “768 Dean Inc” picked it up as lucrative
asset in a changing neighborhood.

The second of two Jumbo "Art Fraud" puzzles that we had the pleasure of finding some time ago. The premise is that the picture on the box is a fake, and the puzzle itself is the original image. There are 10 differences to find in the finished jigsaw. Actually we didn't refer to the box lid image much so the differences didn't really matter! One missing piece but not surprising as the box was very worn. A standard Jumbo grid cut with well-fitting pieces.

Gov. Neil Abercrombie today signed House Bill 2275 (Act 26), a measure that increases the protection of distressed homeowners against predatory mortgage rescue fraud.
Act 26 expands the definition of “distressed property consultant” to anyone who represents or assists those who provide distressed property consultant services for an advance fee. It also clarifies that attorneys exempt from this definition must be licensed by, and engaged in the practice of law in, the State of Hawaii.
“We want those who prey upon the fears and vulnerability of homeowners to know we will not allow them to take advantage of Hawaii's people,” said Gov. Neil Abercrombie. “Hawaii’s homeowners will benefit from this legislation by further conforming our laws to federal regulations.”
Act 26 aligns Hawaii law with the Federal Trade Commission’s Mortgage Assistance Relief Services rule adopted in 2010, assisting the state Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs’ Office of Consumer Protection (OCP) in enforcing the mortgage rescue fraud law against all persons involved in a scheme, such as the alleged scam announced last week that OCP believes may have affected more than 500 Hawaii homeowners.
Anyone who believes they may have been the victim of a mortgage rescue scam can file a complaint with the OCP by contacting the Consumer Resource Center at (808) 587-4272 or visit cca.hawaii.gov/ocp/.
