Behind an anonymous building facade, American architect Frank Gehry covered the atrium with a splendid morphing glass and titanium roof.
IAC building , New York , is a building designed by architect Frank Gehry .Construction was completed in 2007.
It is located on the corner of Eleventh Avenue and 19th Street in Manhattan .
IAC is the Headquarters of the American tourism firm IAC / InterActiveCorp.

"Die Ansprüche des Bauherrn, der Bank, sind interessant: Ihr gefiel der frühe Entwurf eines riesigen Aquariums mit einem schwebenden Ruderboot nicht. (Gemeint ist die Innenskulptur.) Zu nahe lagen die Metapher vom “sinkenden Schiff” im Falle einer Finanzkrise oder die Interpretation als “Haifischbecken”. Die Bank sah ihre Mitarbeiter im Atrium stehen, miteinander plauschend in der Pause: “Sitzen wir denn nicht alle in einem Boot?” – So blieb es für die Skulptur allein bei dem, was die meisten heute den “Pferdekopf” nennen (er hat sich im Planungsteam durchgesetzt), manche aber auch als den “Wal”, die “Qualle”, “Amöbe”, den “Ritterhelm” oder einfach als “das Ding” bezeichnen."

"Pariser Platz Nummer 3. Gehry kann sich auch benehmen, wenn er will. Seine neobrarock geschwungenen Fassaden wären ihm hier auch nicht erlaubt worden. Stattdessen tobt er sich im Atrium aus. Im geöffneten Schlund dieser Raumskulptur verbirgt sich ein Konferenzsaal. Das gewölbte Glasdach hat ein Pendant im Erdgeschoss. Beide Membranen scheinen sich parallel zueinander auszudehnen."

Last year on a trip to Las Vegas someone told me about a building there in town that was designed by the same architect that designed the Disney Concert Hall in Downtown LA. I only had time to shoot it during the day which was unfortunate because after returning home I discovered that the building is lit with lighting that changed colors throughout the night. Saturday I hitched a ride with my daughter to Las Vegas, she purchased tickets to see Third eye blind & Dashboard confessional at the Hard Rock Cafe, I was worried about her driving up by herself so I asked if I could tag along for the ride and I would shoot around on the strip while she was in the show, plus as an added bonus I could reshoot this building at night. This is the blue version taken at about 1:00am.

Two architectural icons of New York: IAC Building, designed by Frank Gehry and 100 11th Avenue, designed by Jean Nouvel.
Dieses Museum wurde vom Architekten Frank Gehry entworfen. Dort kann man interessante, wechselnde Kunstausstellungen erleben.
Vor dem Museum befindet sich auf der Staße ein großes Spruchband.
Das Rilke-Gedicht „Der Ball“ ist seit 2004 auf 153 Metern Länge vor dem Marta Herford zu lesen. Der Gedichttext führt in einer beidseitig lesbaren umlaufenden Schlaufe vom Eingang des Museumskomplexes bis zum Kreisverkehr auf dem Schillerplatz. Dort ruht eine hochpolierte, silbrig glänzende Edelstahlkugel von 3,5 Metern Durchmesser.
