This coyote was in a side field by Commonwealth Lake. It's sharing its hunting with the same field where the red-tailed hawk often hunts. Didn't seem too disturbed by my watching, just staring back at me.

from a early morning visit
My granddaughter gave me this fox button when she was 3 years old. She told me it would keep me safe on the plane going home. It's getting a little worse for wear as it lives in a pocket in my purse and iit travels with me everywhere each day. Foxy is 1.175 cm (1.25 inches across)

A big company where I used to work took photos of all the employees for key card badges, which allowed access to selected floors in many countries. Eventually these photos showed up online internally, as international teams needed more than just a bulletin board in a local office to associate names with faces. Some European photographer got artsy in the Noughties, and started taking half-face portraits kind of like this for official company use. I didn’t intend this one in that style, but the fidgety Fox just eluded my attempts to catch a full-face view. Maybe my European colleagues were also elusive in those days.
