FOUR ELEMENTS is the Topic for Saturday December 3th, Group Our Daily Challenge

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

today the sun actually came out for about 45 minutes after days of bad weather.

So I grabbed my camera and let's go.

The topic for Our Daily Challenge is the 4 elements and I see them here, the sun for fire, the foreground field for earth, the clouds for air and the puddle for water.

My last shot of these spoonbills. They are such an amazing bird. Enjoyed watching them as they fed. The Roseate Spoonbill is 1 of 6 species of spoonbills in the world and the only one found in the Americas. The other 5 spoonbills (Eurasian, Royal, African, Black-faced, and Yellow-billed) occur in Asia, Africa, Europe, and Australia.

A great looking fishing catamaran.

When looking for Butterflies I always encounter Moths. I used to ignore the smaller brown or pale ones, favoring the larger spectacular species when I see them. Here are four small moths that I found visually interesting.

Thanks to the great identification service from the University of Alberta called "Albertaleps", I have the names of these ones.

Top row L - Spotted Grass Moth

Top row R - Virginia Tiger Moth

Bottom row L - Oblique-banded Leaf Roller

Bottom row R - Yarrow Plume Moth

Here are this moth's real eyes as it hangs out. A top view posted to the right shows that it has 6 fake eyes.

It also hung similarly to this by one appendage. Showing off, I guess.

God's given us years of happiness here

Now we must part

And as the angels come and call for you

The pains of grief tug at my heart

Oh my darling

My darling

My heart breaks as you take your long journey

Oh the days will be empty

The nights so long without you my love

And when god calls for you I'm left alone

But we will meet in heaven above

Oh my darling

My darling

My heart breaks as you take your long journey

Fond memories I'll keep of happy ways

That on earth we trod

And when I come we will walk hand in hand

As one in heaven in the family of god

Oh my darling

My darling

My heart breaks as you take your long journey

Give your gal/fella a big hug. Take your kids somewhere fun. Time is the most valuable, and scarcest, resource you'll ever have. Make the most of it. You're not promised tomorrow.

Four oaks on a hill in Yorkshire

Sunshine and bugs, what a great day.

Another capture of a monarch butterfly feeding on the sedum flowers. I like the clear delineation of the four wings seen here.

The honeybee flying by the upper left wing is a bonus :)

This little area in Fraserburgh adjacent to the lighthouse is called the four corners due to the little concrete shelter there, where you can shelter from the wind whichever way it comes in, hence four corners.... Anyway, I went there this afternoon as there was a great sky and a rolling sea, typical winter's day.
