-- We think these are the remnants of old warehouses. The area is rather strange, because it's next to a big working agricultural plant -- fully operational -- and then acres and acres of these abandoned warehouses, just the walls and foundations, a modern abandoned office building that looks like it was never completed and then a field stretching to dormitories that were once used to house sugar cane cutters. The abandoned structures are now home for owls that come flying over your head in graceful arcs, leaving as you enter. Molly loves the sniffs.

We spent last week glamping at Heron Lake.
Glamping rather than camping as we were using our little Casita camping trailer at a campsite plugged into electricity and water.
A year or so ago I came across the term glamping used for glamour camping.
On this particular day we had gone into Chama and then headed north of town to a spot we'd previously scouted. We wanted to catch the Cumbres & Toltec narrow gauge steam train coming out of Chama. We caught it where we had planned and then continued north to where it briefly stops at Cumbres Pass. We caught it again and then looked for a spot for us to pee. We found an area that had once serviced the railroad when it was used to transport ore.
Some of the historical buildings are being dismantled so that the foundations can be shored and then the buildings reassembled.
"Foundations" We finally found the ruins of this old house after having missed it on our last trip. Nestled between Interstate 40 and Route 66 in Dagget, California, this required a park and walk.
Not sure what this old cement home originally looked like but it had characteristics of spanish architecture making it an attractive subject to shoot. Throw in the moon and a constant stream of slow moving freight trains emerging from nearby Barstow and you've got a really great moment.

The Alexandra and Ainsworth estate is a housing estate in the London Borough of Camden, North West London. It was designed in 1968 by Neave Brown of Camden Council's Architects Department. Construction commenced in 1972 and was completed in 1978. It is constructed from site-cast, board-marked white, unpainted reinforced concrete. Along with 520 apartments, the site also includes a school, community centre, youth club, heating complex, and parkland. The estate consists of three parallel east-west blocks, and occupies a crescent-shaped site bounded on the south by Boundary Road, Loudoun Road on the east, Abbey Road on the west, and by the West Coast Main Line to the north. The desire to control the sound and vibration from passing trains was a major consideration in the layout of the estate. Two rows of terraced apartments are aligned along the tracks. The higher, eight-story block directly adjacent to the railway line is organised in the form of a ziggurat, and acts as a noise barrier that blocks the noise of the trains from reaching the interior portion of the site, and its foundations rest on rubber pads that eliminate vibration.
Just trying out some different foundations and concealers in anticipation of cooler fall weather when I can actually step outside without it all melting off! Hope you’re all staying cool! (A short video hello next up! 🙋♀️)
Dominating the corner from Otho Street in Byron Street, this elegant two storey, Victorian Italianate building was completed in 1886 and became the local Council Chambers from 1960-1983. It was constructed from 300,000 bricks and has foundations which reach 4 metres deep.

There is going to be a new double garage and the current single garage on the left, is to be demolished and replaced with my very own little studio ... I just hope I live long enough to see it finished.

Greetings flickr fans! Many more uploads soon! I have been busy writing, traveling, and shooting! I finished my books on the Tao of Epic Landscape Photography and the Golden Number Ratio Principle! I oft incorporate the golden ratio in my landscape compositions, and you'll also see it in the design and proportion of the 45surf clothes and surfboard and gun logos (More golden ratio information at my facebook page facebook.com/goldennumberratio). Message me on facebook for free review copies of my books here: facebook.com/mcgucken ! :)
I'm working on a book on photographing epic goddesses too! What should I title it? :)

Full titles: The Tao of Epic Landscape Photography: Exalt Fine Art with the Yin-Yang Wisdom of Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching.
And: The Golden Number Ratio Principle: Why the Fibonacci Numbers Exalt Beauty and How to Create PHI Compositions in Art, Design, & Photography: An Artistic and Scientific Introduction to the Golden Mean !
I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them! :)
Enjoy the epic landscape and goddess and photography and note the golden ratio overlays in some of the photos, as well as the golden ratio in the Birth of Venus painting by Botticelli!
I've been on the road shooting landscapes in Zion, Yosemite, the Eastern Sierras, Big Sur, and more!
Many of you have seen my physics formula dx4/dt=ic for Light Time Dimesnion Theory on a lot of the 45surf clothing and in the fine art landscape logos. I finally finished the first book of many on the foundations of photography's best friend--light:
Light Time Dimension Theory: The Foundational Physics Unifying Einstein's Relativity and Quantum Mechanics.
All the best on your epic hero's odyssey!
