Foundation pieced onto cotton batting using (mostly) scraps that I thought were "too small to use". I'm not happy with the framing or with frames in general: just an experiment.
Forms came off today. Lumber is expected tomorrow, and framing will start. The opening for the crawlspace on the west foundation wall makes it a lot easier to step into the studio than on Saturday. They expect to reuse many of the 2x6 boards as floor joists, which makes their use as forms make a lot more sense.

De Verbeke Foundation is een private kunstsite die geopend werd op 1 juni 2007 door kunstverzamelaars Geert Verbeke en Carla Verbeke-Lens.
Cultuur, natuur en ecologie komen er samen. De ruimte herbergt een indrukwekkende verzameling van moderne en hedendaagse kunst en biedt als kunstenvrijplaats ook kansen aan jonge kunstenaars.
Met zijn 12 hectare natuurgebied en zijn 20.000 m² overdekte ruimten is de Verbeke Foundation één van de grootste privé-initiatieven voor hedendaagse kunst in Europa. De loodsen van het vroegere transportbedrijf van Geert Verbeke werden omgebouwd tot unieke expositieruimtes. Eén van de gebouwen werd ingericht om de uitzonderlijke verzameling collages en assemblages tentoon te stellen. De Verbeke Foundation is in een aanhoudend groeiproces. Kunstenaars kunnen er in residentie verblijven en grotere en kleinere tentoonstellingen wisselen elkaar af, waardoor de foundation er elke dag anders uitziet, zoals een ademend organisme.

In het begin van de jaren 1990 begonnen Geert en Carla Verbeke-Lens kunst te verzamelen. Na een initiële interesse voor abstracte schilderkunst werd de collectie geheroriënteerd naar collages en assemblages van hoofdzakelijk Belgische kunstenaars. De afgelopen jaren werd de verzameling verder uitgebreid naar hedendaagse kunst en naar bio-art.
Collages en assemblages
De kern van de privéverzameling bestaat uit een uitzonderlijke collectie van zo’n 6000 collages en assemblages voornamelijk uit de twintigste eeuw. Een aparte ruimte werd ingericht om een deel van deze collectie permanent tentoon te stellen.
Hedendaags kunst
De Verbeke Foundation wenst een plek te zijn waar cultuur, natuur en ecologie samenkomen. Het werk van bio-artiesten en van kunstenaars die met levende materialen werken (planten, dieren, geuren) sluit hier naadloos bij aan. Sinds de opening van de Verbeke Foundation in 2007 kon de verzameling uitgebreid worden met hedendaagse werken en in situ gebouwde installaties.

"Langen Foundation near Neuss, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany is a museum designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando. The foundation showcases a collection of Oriental Art and Modern Art.
The museum was created on grounds which used to be a NATO rocket base. The building has double-skin volume and two half-buried temporary exhibition wings with a total area of 900 m²; the structure mainly consists of reinforced concrete, glass and steel. The museum offers three exhibition spaces totaling an area of 1,300 square meters. Situated within the ground-level concrete slab is the so-called Japan Room – an unusually long and narrow gallery conceptualized by Ando as a space of “tranquillity” especially for the Japanese segment of the Langen Collection. The two subterranean exhibition rooms, with a ceiling height of a surprising eight meters, were in turn designed to accommodate the modern part of the collection. The museum opened to the public in 2004."

The Beyeler Foundation or Fondation Beyeler with its museum in Riehen, near Basel, owns and oversees the art collection of Hildy and Ernst Beyeler.
Art dealers Ernst Beyeler (*1921) and Hilda Kunz (*1922), known as Hildy, created the Beyeler Foundation in 1982 and commissioned Renzo Piano to design a museum, the Fondation Beyeler, to house their private collection. The collection was first publicly exhibited in its entirety at the Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid in 1989, and was subsequently shown at Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin, (1993) and the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sidney, (1997).
By building Renzo Piano's museum structure in 1997, the Beyeler Foundation made its collection permanently accessible to the public. In 2006, approximately 340,000 persons visited the museum. Hildy Beyeler died on July 18, 2008, and Ernst died on February 25, 2010.

On this side of the building is a hall with a wonderful view over the water lily pond, showing Monet's water lily paintings. One of my favorite museum spots.

FIU Claire Wineland Visit – March 8, 2016
Claire Wineland spoke to Florida International University (FIU) students about her life and her foundation, “Clarie’s Place Foundation, Inc.” which supports children and families with cystic fibrosis. FIU students presented Claire Wineland with a check of $7000 for her foundation, which students raised during the “Give a Breath” campaign.

Visit to Stahls Automotive Foundation in Chesterfield, Michigan on March 15, 2014. The collection is open to the public on Tuesday afternoons from 1 - 4 pm, however, this was a private opening for two classic car clubs.
From front to back we see three Packards from the early thirties, a 1932 Stutz DV-32 and a 1930 Cadillac V-16 Phaeton.

So, a few days later, they laid the cement block for the foundation. At this point I saw the exact outside dimensions of the house. I Hope it isn't eating too much of the back yard up... as you can see, my house is about 1.5-2 times longer than the neighboring house.
Ariel-Foundation Park in Mount Vernon, OH is built on the site of the former Pittsburgh Plate Glass factory, with some of the original structures in various states of ruin. These shots were taken on Kodak TMAX 100 film with the Lomography Diana F+ camera, and developed in FPP Super Mono monobath chemistry. The monobath is a super convenient and economical way to develop your black and white film at home. The Film Photography Project store has a helpful guide that lists which film emulsions work best with the Super Mono.

I would have liked a lighter brown, but it was the best I could find without driving an hour to the nearest good quilt shop!

The Graham Foundation is fortunate to own and occupy the Madlener House, a turn-of-the-century residence by architects Richard Schmidt (1866–1959) and Hugh Garden (1873–1961).
The House was sensitively restored for the Foundation by Daniel Brenner (1917–1977) in 1963–64, and presently contains the Foundation’s offices, exhibition space, lecture hall, and a permanent exhibition of architectural fragments from the work of Louis H. Sullivan, his mentor John H. Edleman, and his disciples Frank Lloyd Wright and George Grant Elmslie.
