Yesterday afternoon I decided to take a short walk along the stream.
In Bergöschingen near Hohentengen.
You don't always have to travel to the most exclusive places in the world to see breathtaking places, mostly it's enough to just go to your doorstep and appreciate your own landscape.

We had a much-needed rain overnight. Very welcome. So, I grabbed my 11-year-old Fuji XPro1 and 40-year-old Vivitar 35-200 zoom, which I got on eBay for $25. That's a combined 51 years of old tech, and it still works. (Thank you, #fotodiox adapter.)

Kim and I had gone to the botanic garden that last weekend in November. Just inside the Sasebo Japanese garden was this tree or large bush with these reddish orange berries and white petals. The leaves varied from purple to reddish to yellowish to green.
I've been googling but so far I can't figure out what this might be.
Does anyone have an idea?
A couple more photos of it in the first comment box.

Had to do quite the brisk hike through the snow to get to this part of the park, as the rest of the stream was already in shadow. Two images focus stacked, along with a third f/22 exposure for the sun star. A Fotodiox 5-stop ND filter was used to blur the water a little.
I am not worth a crap at manual focusing, esp. with a wide aperture. But today, I dusted off a 1970s-era SMC Pentax-M 50mm, grabbed a #Fotodiox PK-FX adapter, and then took the contraption for a spin. The camera used was my old X-Pro1. I think the aperture was 2.8, as EXIF is not captured. It's a highly regarded kit lens, and my focus is close to being accurate. The lens was purchased at a camera flea market or else maybe on eBay. Can't remember. But, I do recall the price was around $25 or so. If I had gone down to the max aperture of 1.7 for this shot, I think the background would have been super creamy –– but accurate focus would have been much tougher to achieve. (PS: I cannot tell if the vertical streaks are banding or patterns on the chairs.)

Back in 2015 my Fuji X-T1 was still relatively new. I was experimenting with various old lenses that had aperture rings and manual focus. I still am using Fotodiox adapters for these old lenses. This was shot with a Kiron 80-200 mm lens that had been made for the old Canon FD mount. Every now and then I'd get lucky and catch focus.
Happy Bokeh Wednesday.
I attached a 45-year-old Nikkor 105mm 2.5 to my Fuji X-T1 during today's walkabout. This shot of a bicycle bell was wide open at 2.5. The lens and settings turned the concrete street/sidewalk into a creamy-ish blur. I like it, but maybe a different aperture was needed so that the bell doesn't look like it's floating? #fotodiox
